I buy the Premier Protein shakes from Costco. Chocolate flavored. I also like to buy coffee concentrate. (Coolbrew - it is a southern thing. I am not sure how widely available it is.) I will mix an ounce or two of my coffee concentrate with the chocolate shake. It is great! 164 kcal in all. 30 grams of protein.

She needs to keep easy to pack gluten free things on hand. Luna bars are gluten free. String cheese is easy to throw in your bag. Simple 7 quinoa chips. Fruit.

I have anemia problems too. In addition to red meat and greens I also eat fortified foods. Stuff like Luna Bars and breakfast cereal have a lot of iron added to them. ( I know you are trying to go low carb but some of those Luna bars have 30% of your daily iron.) Coffee deters absorption. When my anemia is bad I have to…

Strawberries with a drizzle of chocolate syrup on top.

I liked Anytime except that during the later hours they weren't staffed. I was there by myself a few times. It was a little unsafe.

I drink two giant glasses of water on an empty stomach in the morning and chase it with a cup of coffee. An hour later...

Does it taste overly artificial? (The thing that bugs me the most about a lot of sugar free things tends to be the after taste of whatever artificial sweetener they used instead.) I have hesitated to buy them for fear that it would just taste terrible.

The Protein Pow website has lots of good recipes. My sister likes The Protein Chef but I have never made any of his things. If you check out the Protein Pow site try to choose one of her recipes with less egg white if you want a more traditional pancake texture but there are lots of good ones to choose from there.

Roasted vegetables, beans, quinoa chips.

If you don't have Pinterest yet I highly recommend it. I find tons of healthy and tasty recipes there. You can even search for weight watchers recipes where the points have been figured out for you.

Regular protein shakes are actually cheaper and tastier. I have not compared them to slimfast but they might be another option for you. I really like Combat Protein Powder - Cookies'nCream flavor.

I've changed my goal weight several times... I have been overweight since about sixth grade so when I started I didn't even know what to make my goal weight. Healthy BMI seemed so unattainable since I had never been there before... My first goal was just getting under 200, then 190, now I am excited to get under 180 and be…

I've reached the point where tucking my shirts in looks better than leaving then out.

Thanks for sharing this.

I slow cook a pound of black beans with hickory seasonings about every other week. I also like to mass roast sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts on Sunday to keep in the fridge throughout the week. Once in awhile I make a massive pan of mini-turkey meatloaves to take for lunches. Protein cheesecakes. Cooking ahead of time…

I like to have a big dinner so I will purposely save 600-700 calories just for dinner and eat a small breakfast, and lunch.

+1 Most of us girls put enough pressure on ourselves. Don't need it from the boys too...

I have celiacs. The only time I get that bloat in my stomach is when I have accidentally consumed gluten. Check your labels something is still contaminated. Did you throw out things in your kitchen like wooden spoons, stoneware pans, etc? If you used them to cook gluteny things before getting diagnosed you might be getting…

I finally bought the Kitchen Safe so that when the jug of chocolate covered almonds at Costco wins I can at least lock them up...

Health, quality of life, looking good, and honestly the number on the scale.

Next to the two tablespoons it gives you the weight in grams of a serving. To be accurate you would need to get a food scale to weigh it. I DOUBT that it is "rounded" tablespoons.

I am down 60 pounds and it has taken about 11 months. I made the choice to go slowly on purpose. It is less "diety" feeling going slowly. I am more mentally focused on "healthy long term lifestyle" at this speed. It does add up over time! I'm also hoping that going slowly will allow my skin to keep shrinking and not end up…

We love horror movies here! If you like foreign films Babadook is great. (Australian) Dumplings and The Audition were both fantastic. (Asian - so you will have to read the subtitles.) Haunter - Abigail Breslin. You can stream it on Netflix right now.

I like the Pure Protein bars for their price. They taste pretty good. (If I eat them very often they mess with my digestive tract...) I just got an order of Julian Bakery Protein Bars - They are pricy but I wanted to try them because they don't have any sugar alcohols in them. They taste great but I doubt I will buy them…

I have a new one that I noticed this week. My shirts and tops hang off of my boobs rather than belly because my belly is flattening out enough to not stick out past my chest when I stand up!

I love your idea of writing letters to your former self. That sounds very empowering. A way to plan for a different future. I get what your coworker is saying... But that feels like such a negative outlook to choose to take. Ugh. I like your positivity better.

Fitbit is so inaccurate... I try to think of it more as an activity monitor than a pedometer. Riding a horse is work. Killer thigh muscles required! I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I just created my own and log the calories the machine says I burned manually. (I do that KNOWING full well that the number of calories it says I burned in high. I figure it is at least consistent in its error... I don't generally eat back the calories so it does not really matter.)

I try to keep fitness on the mind all the time. I have my goals posted by my closet door. I have fitness boards I pin things to on Pinterest. I am constantly reading articles or books about fitness related subjects. I spend time visualizing how I will look and what it will feel like when I go hiking this summer. You have…
