  • @biketheworld Thanks for this topic! It was just in time for me😅. I was thinking, this is so hard, can I stick with it all month? And thank you @Mrs_Hoffer for your encouragement to us new folks😀. Yes x 3 Walking the dog
  • Yes x 3, hiking for exercise Emotional eater here. When I worked in the hospital, there was extreme stress, and there were always treats out. I could not resist, I was craven, and shoveled food all day. So did many others. We all gained weight in our attempts to self sooth. So I left the hospital, and got a less stressful…

  • @MaltedTea I love your post on positivitea! My default is self critical and catastrophizing. Gonna start working on it today :-) Anyway, yes x3. Walk dog in park, then in woods. Did easy sets of squats, plan to go back to heavy next week.

  • Yes x 3 Dog walk, bench and row I'm working hard to save my pass days for as long as possible. To use as a reward to motivate myself. And I love the Freggie People! Just bumped mine up, and feel better already 😃

  • I enjoy all your posts. Yes x 3 Started running again yesterday. Ran five minutes, walked one, ran four walked fifteen. Up and down hills in the woods. I was up to a 5K in 35 minutes months ago, but that's ok. I'll take my time and I get there again. The main thing at my age is, don't get injured 😂

  • MediCare authorized NPs to continue doing virtual hospice face-to-face visits, rather than in person, through November 2021. I miss seeing patients, but I'm relieved. So many of our nursing homes have active COIVD cases again. So sad.
  • Congratulations to the Winners! and the Champions! I was in UAC years ago, and it helped me so much. It was moderated by @RangerRickL, and I see he is still here😀. Hi! And I see a few others from years back. 👍 I look forward to meeting the rest of the team 🥰. I've had some personal tragedies, and have been eating like a…

  • Sarcopenic obesity? (Loss of muscle, gain in fat tissue.) I see this in a lot of elderly, and people with chronic illness. I hope you can see your provider, because this seems beyond the scope of us on MyFitnesspal. Wish you the best.
  • I used to put one teaspoon of sugar, then weaned it down to 1/2 teaspoon. Now I don't need anything in it at all. I'm on a tight calorie budget, so was looking in all the little habits to make cuts. I still have 1/2 tsp sugar + milk in afternoon, can't give that up.
  • I'm in a runner's newsgroup, and there are young, healthy runners in that group that had COVID-19 with mild symptoms. Although "recovered," many haven't been able to return to their previous levels of fitness or running. The complain of continued brain fog, shortness of breath and fatigue. They are long haulers now. Who…
  • Take it easy on yourself. You'll get back on track once you're out of quarantine. I was quarantined for a month. (I, personally, didn't have COVID). Then, we had fires and couldn't go out, because you couldn't breathe. It was hell. I ended up drinking and eating too much. Put on a few pounds. But the boredom, loneliness…
  • I think I'll have to continue to do it. I hate tracking, but when I don't do it, I slowly gain ALL the weight back. Ah well, I'm grateful to have this tool, back in the old days it was pen and paper plus a calorie book. Myfitness pal is so much easier than that.
  • "but I need to learn how to love myself, how to truly care for myself" I agree with the others that professional help would be ideal. And I know during COVID, it's not always possible. I suffered self loathing on a daily basis when I was young. It's paralyzing. Now, as an older person, it's something that happens…
  • Good for you researching what you put in your body. I've seen the research on bacon and other preserved meats, and they are correlated with a host of chronic diseases. I love bacon and salami. However, based on the research I backed off. But I'm older than you, so trying my best to stack the odds in my favor. The balance…
  • @Jana_2020, @RangerRickL, and @Hollis100. Thanks for your support. Yes x 3 today. Just a nice walk with the dog along beach cliffs. We'll try a run tomorrow, then back to our regular schedule next week . . . assuming no fires, or God knows what else, lol. Have a good night everyone.
  • Arrrgh! I was doing so well this month, running 3x a week, etc. Then it fell apart. I recently lost my insurance, so I reduced my asthma medications. My inhalers are $360 a month, with the discount :# . This lead to an exacerbation, I couldn't breathe, couldn't move etc. Then fires hit and the smoke was hellish. A rough…
  • Pass day 2. Went for a long walk, but then off the rails with eating. I'm disgusted. Back to being disciplined tomorrow.
  • Yes x 3, my non-scale victory is that I have been trail running with my dog three days a week, and sticking to it for five weeks now.
  • yes x 3, just easy walking with dog
  • yes x 3
  • Happy Birthday @RangerRickL !!! :) And thank you for being such a good person, always sharing and supporting our group.
  • Pass #1, I exercised, but then ate a lot of random scraps of food, and didn't track.
  • yes x 3 Trail running 3x a week with dog. Shins and metatarsals still scream, but they are getting better. I keep making adjustments to posture, balance and form and things are shaping up. I've never been a runner, and had no idea how difficult it is. Today, I was huffing and puffing and thinking "I don't want to do this!"…
  • Thanks for the quote @RangerRickL. I'm going to make a conscious effort to work on my attitude today. I read a lot of political news, am freaked out about the handling of the pandemic, worry that I'll never get another job, and then I just kind of shut down. I'm going to ease up, and cultivate a more positive attitude. Yes…
  • yes x 3, easy day, dog walk
