Somewhat akin to margob99's suggestion, a daily walk makes a big difference, especially if you can find some hills. Your cardiovascular system will thank you. When that becomes comfortable, carry a dumbbell with you and shift it from hand to hand as each arm gets tired.

Way too much protein, not that it's gonna kill you or anything. I'd suggest raising the amount of fat to cover the calories you intend to take in.

Depression isn't something you can think your way out of. Medication can definitely help-- if you're not already seeing a doctor, please do. I was hospitalized for depression four times in the 90's. I still see a psychiatrist so that I don't ever have to go back to that. The illness is better understood now than it was…

Thank you. I'll look it up.

I like the paper towel analogy! Nicely done.

Ahh, the age-old question. Eat the calories, or not? And, if not, let them accumulate over time for a big reward of something hedonistic? Personally, I tend to leave the exercise-related calories alone, but if I have an exceptionally productive day, I might use some of them for a rare treat (like, say, ice cream).

I'm game. I lost 24 pounds earlier this year and gained it back pretty quickly. I'm a FitBit user too, if you're doing that.
