It's a calorie counting tool made to count calories. It has a basic design because it would be madness to try and create something that accounts for every single diet on the market. It just happens to come with additional warnings at the whim of the tool creator's lawyers to deter potential legal headaches should anyone…

No Promotion of Unsafe Weight-Loss Techniques or Eating Disorders? Their goal is to provide users with the tools to achieve their weight management goals at a steady, sustainable rate? Then MFP works with intermittent fasting just fine. You are getting the same dose of calories for the week as you would if you split it…

If by 'basics' you mean the TOS, I did and I just checked it again. What you are talking about is not a breach of user agreement, and nowhere to be found under prohibited uses. Looks like I am free to count calories the way I choose to, how scandalous.
-
Not sure why you figure that. I am currently trying out a zigzag 7 day calorie cycle along with intermittent fasting. I still need to count calories and keep track of my exercise and that's what a calorie counting site is for.
-
It's common for those doing intermittent fasting like the 5:2 diet and such.

My goal weight is 125 but I might go as low as 120. I don't think I want to venture any lower than that. I have a large frame with wide hips and I don't think I'd look good much lower than that.

It sounds like she's making excuses. I'd leave it alone. That's for her to sort out.

My hubby lost a lot of weight and I knew if his lazy butt could do it, I had no excuse. My kids were starting to emulate my bad eating habits and I was feeling like crap all the time. Plus, I hated the way I looked. Yet, it wasn't until I started having irregular heart rhythms that I finally woke up and said, no more. I…

Well, while this may not be very scientific but for me it seems to happen everywhere except the couple of trouble spots in which I really wanted to lose it. Those areas seem to be holding onto fat for dear life.

Wanting to live long enough to see my kids grow up.

When I started out my hubby told me to use the scale he was using. I thought it was dumb. I mean, I had cups and stuff! I could measure a cup of something, easy peasy. Then I learned that the volume measurements are not able to provide accurate servings for most things. I tried doing volume measurements for a few items and…

I just started doing intermittent fasting with a zig zag calorie intake and I really like it. I feel like I have a lot more freedom now.
-
No need to get ahead of yourself and psyche yourself out. Just take it one day at a time.
-
No Problem. It's the recommended calculator from the FAQ in subbreddit called /r/loseit that I am a member of. I like that it includes a zigzag pattern calorie plan too. I wouldn't know such a thing even existed if not for that site.

Have you tried using a non-MPF calorie calculator like this one http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm to see what your intake should be? From what I have heard, MFP has a tendency to throw that 1200 number out to scores of women like beads at mardi gras who probably should be at a higher intake.

While I may feel sluggish trying to exercise on a full stomach there are other people that are the polar opposite. Whatever makes your body feel ready to get moving is the way to go.

Try http://www.reddit.com/r/1200isplenty/ it's a fairly active subreddit of people who share food ideas that are on all on 1200 calorie limit. I post there from time to time. It's a good group.

If you are 5'2 and you think you are eating an average of around 2000 calories but not weighing or logging things, you are likely eating a ton more calories than you think you are. Plus, if you aren't very active and eating around 2000 calories a day (even if you have been religiously counting calories) it could be too…

Give up sugar? No thanks.

The thing that I hear the most which bugs the crap out of me is, "You don't need to lose anymore weight." or "You are getting too skinny, have a cupcake!" Uh, I am on the heavier side of a normal BMI... that's hardly wasting away. It's always something I hear only from overweight people (with the exception of my naturally…

I stopped thinking of it as something I could quit if I really wanted to and started thinking of it as a permanent dietary change that I had to make for the sake of my health and betterment of my family. To me, being morbidly obese was really no different than if I had diabetes or some other serious ailment. I was…

Friendly's peanut butter cup ice cream. I could eat that till I died.

You can also try PB2 which is low fat and low calorie. It is expensive and not something I would ever eat in a sandwich but it does taste darn good mixed into a smoothie.

Your website shows up as a parked domain, in any case, sounds like you are looking for a weight loss boot camp style coach to kick your butt in gear? I may be able to help, feel free to PM me.

I think it could be easy depending on the type of foods you are consuming. Some foods are really calorie dense and it doesn't take a ton of it to add up over the course of a day and then you throw alcohol into the mix.

Didn't have any pie but a lovely Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake did me in on Xmas eve in much of the same manner. I ate it until I had an internal battle between 'I'm so full I can't eat another bite' and 'but it's so good, can't stop' for a good five minutes. Eventually the feeling that I might just explode won out.

Went from a DDD to a D. They are much more comfortable and I can actually wear button down shirts now without them looking absurd!
-
a million, give or take a couple... Seriously though, no clue. I gave up on even attempting to keep track after a few glasses of wine.
-
Not going to be eating at home so no idea yet. Not that it really matters, I saved up enough calories to splurge all I want.

I just wanted to post this here because it's on topic and interesting: http://www.nber.org/papers/w15648.pdf Calorie Posting in Chain Restaurants Bryan Bollinger, Phillip Leslie, Alan Sorensen NBER Working Paper No. 15648 Issued in January 2010 NBER Program(s): HC HE IO We study the impact of mandatory calorie posting on…
