  • @2020pinktogo I can't imagine working with anyone one for 25 years. The only people I still know and interact with regularly that I have known that long are my family. I'm getting close with my friend Molly, but I've only known her for 16 years and much of that time we have lived in separate cities. I'm amazed at your…
  • @1skholloway don't really know what to say.... you crack me up though. It's amazing how much our minds can mess with us. Great idea trying to mask the chocolate scent with something else. Push right through.
  • @2020pinktogo Sooooo happy about the job change. I do hope your current boss takes it well. Think they will make you work out your notice? It seems lately I'm hearing of jobs telling them to go ahead and make the day of their resignation their last day. Friends of mine this has happened to have continued to be paid by the…
  • Wow, it has been week of great successes for this group. @2020pinktogo good luck on that interview. Like you say, at least it will be practice no matter what the outcome is. As someone who has interviewed ALOT, the people I generally hire are personable, energetic and happy. I figure I can teach people a job but you can't…
  • @jiggy242 - welcome aboard. What great reasons to get healthier again. I, too want to be able to go find clothes anywhere. I was so bummed that the "Severus Snape/Alan Rickman Always" shirt I keep seeing advertised on Facebook only comes in mens 2x. So, I'll have to wait for a few more lbs. I am also worried about…
  • Hey all. I have to say that my Monday seems to have been much better than many of yours. I actually had the day off and though I didn't eat perfectly, I made good choices AND I walked 4 miles AND did a little strength training. My mother in law DIDN'T come over while I was there (she lives on our property). I have had…
  • @2020pinktogo I agree. I remember when my grandmother was going into a nursing home at the age of 87 they wanted to put her on a no salt diet, have her quit smoking and I think they even talked about a plan to "fix her drooping eyelid". Really, people.
  • Well, I darted out to my little park earlier thinking I could get a walk in prior to rain returning....alas, no. But, thankfully the park supplies plastic bags for cleaning up after dogs and so the phone and earphones were safe as i completed the walk. Now, my clothes and hair are wet due to rain...and some sweat. But i…
  • @2020pinktogo how funny. I can see you walking around in the mall in a parka while everyone else is in shorts and tank tops! @1skholloway my goodness. 80lbs? that is amazing. Keep up the good work. Sounds like you are doing it in a very healthy way. I LOVED working with a trainer. They can definitely help with the toning…
  • @2020pinktogo thanks for the extra info. That's hilarious that your mom calls you a human piglet. Mine used to call me a goat as that is apparently what I smelled like when i would come in from playing as a child. Thank God, deoderant works well! @NewOR2015 It's still raining here as well but we don't have the flooding…
  • @2020pinktogo I can't believe someone is that crabby on a challenge. Well, actually, I can, the GAme of Thrones (isn't that where we "met") i was that crabby person reminding people to log their workouts, but never would I have put people down. Maybe some people work well that way, but not me. One of my previous bosses…
  • @1skholloway how goes the flooding where your neice is? Has she been able to get back to her house? I have been completely unplugged from the world it seems and was only aware of the flooding yesterday when we were in the car coming home. Hope things ease up soon, but weather wise, it doesn't look promising. @JanolaBarbara…
  • Oh my goodness, once again I have missed out on so much. Sounds like LOTS of NSV have mounted up and stress eating has taken a tumble for many of you. For me, not so much. It seems as if it's not standing still it is going in my mouth. Tomorrow is a new day, right? I'm so happy we will have a regular psychiatrist in the…
  • @2020pinktogo that is awesome. Doesn't it feel good when you are able to come up with a solution for something that seems to be impossible. What a way to start the week. @NewOR2015 Glad you got out of your funk. Sometimes we just need to have a "cloudy, EEyore-like day". I also enjoy walking by myself. IT's a great time to…
  • @JanolaBarbara I hope you get some answers quickly from your MRI. It's so hard when you have been staying active and then have to take a break for health reasons. I find it difficult to get back into the swing of things. I know you will stay focused though. YOu do have your trip to South America coming up to look forward…
  • @CaptainBoing hate that about your car. It is amazing how much we rely on these things. Glad she's coming home soon. I have had experience with several trainers over the years and find i do best with someone who will let me laugh at myself but confidently push me to do better. Don't think I would do well with a drill…
  • @1skholloway great NSV!. I need to find new workout pants but can't find anything that isn't black. I need them to walk this last 10k and just don't want to wear such a dark color. However, i also can't wear what I have now as the elastic is shot in one pair and the others cause a terrible rub. So happy you found something…
  • @JanolaBarbara So sorry about Poppi. Happy you made yourself exercise though. It won't take away the pain as you well know, but I truly believe emotions are energy in our body and we have to get that out somehow. @CaptainBoing I can't imagine finding an exercise regimen I love as much as you have. I enjoyed my races when I…
  • Happy August everyone. 14 days until my last 10k. Walked quite a bit this weekend and then decided to mow the lawn yesterday. Riding lawn mower won't start so push mow it is. (At least until brother in law can drive the 1hour and 1/2 to my place to see what's going on with it). However as i need to train mybody to be out…
  • I, too have recently gotten rid of lots of clothes. We just had so many in the closet and really only wore about 20%. Not sure if I got rid of big clothes or small clothes. Guess I figured either way it was time to clean house. Got lots of good rain yesterday. I was so excited. So far, this summer we have been able to…

  • @JanolaBarbara this time we are heading out of Galveston, TX to Mahogony Bay, Belize and Cozumel (been there 1 other time). Have one hiking excursion and then one at the beach. At Cozumel we'll just get off the ship and walk around. This is the first cruise we have been on with a "real" exercise room. Last time there was…

  • whew. I hate having to catch up after several days away. So much has happened on this group. That is awesome. I've been filling in for several people at the office this week with some planned vacations and some out with sick relatives. Now, I'm back to my job only and so I can catch my breath a bit. My husband has…

  • @JanolaBarbara my husband has encouraged me to go back to my high protein way of eating. I did indeed lose the better part of my weight that way and of course have gained it back as I allowed breads and pasta to re-enter my life. Spanish lessons. That’s great. I also love the idea of your job. Support and learning while…

  • @1skholloway I like that thought. I may put it in the rotation of little inspirational tidbits around the house.

  • @JanolaBarbara I printed that recipe. Looks great. Can't wait to try it. I think I'll avoid telling Chris (husband) about the avocado since he won't be able to see it! So far so good today. Chris is on an exercise kick lately and I believe I mentioned that he has entered the last run I have for the 14th. Well, he decided…

  • Glad everyone is doing well this week. I've been in lots of meetings and attempting to break in a new psychiatrist. A therapist is out tomorrow so I'll be running a couple of groups but I'll try to catch up sometime!

  • @NewOR2015 enjoy getting back on track. Be safe!

  • @2020pinktogo I really enjoy the runs. What I find exciting is that what I call the "real runners" are so encouraging. They dart past me and say, "great job keep up the good work" etc. I have never done a run that is more than probably 600 or 700 people. I don't know how I would do with 14,000. I don't mind crowds and that…

  • Hey all. I have started this reply 3 different times and for various reasons have lost it so now, for generic responses. It seems like everyone has had some interesting times lately. @2020pinktogo pinktogo I hate it when co workers don't pull their weight. Now that I'm a supervisor, I find it difficult to judge someone's…

  • I really enjoy getting away from the office for a bit. Usually, I eat at my desk, stay in the building all day (except when I have to get my hourly steps) and so being alone for 1/2 an hour walking in the park nearby allows me to come back and get busy again. (sometimes)
