Congratulations on your achievements already- the hard part about "losing strategies" is really how individual an experience it is! I'm not a "work out" person, but I am active at my job: about 75K plus steps per week for me or 50 km a week. I am at maintenance for 4 months, 155 which is over my recommended weight at 5'5".…

Ditch everything in your diary that's reduced fat in favour of full fat - instant extra cals without extra volume. Yes this is a good way to pack in some additional calories for a start. Increase your calories in snacks with the aid of protein bars and nutritional shakes (such as Boost plus calories) between meals.

you might do well with checking your stats on a site like iifym.com you can understand more about eating at a deficit if you're more aware about your personal burns and intake needs.
-
Start here for crying out loud- this "work around" is a ridiculous part of your equation to fitness.

Good for you, we can all use more support!! Sent an add :)

Crock pot is your best friend as said above :) 3lb Pork loin with a cup or so of low sodium chicken broth, minced garlic, pepper, celery salt, onion flakes or finely chopped, plus your favorite bbq sauce on low for 4-5 hours, shred with a fork and serve over rice or on a bun with shredded cheese!

Ok so... Anyone else think OP is trolling? Already lost 59lbs and NOW needs the advice of "doc" and feedback from forum?

I didn't start my weight loss until I was 41 and trying to maintain now that I'm nearly 42...all about the intake for me :) Add me!

I have had an issue with distended belly for all of my adult life. I've also had a problem with "eliminating" with some routine my entire life. I too would bloat to "pregnancy status" and would wonder if it was white flour, sugar etc. Since losing weight and taking probiotics (plus some yogurt) every day, I've honestly…

Black forest ham with swiss cheese, light mayo and lettuce on an extra toasted English muffin!

I was challenged by my friend to do "Sober for October". So I decided to take it as a queue to focus on my overall health and hubby and I decided to skip all fast food and eating out (especially Timmies) for the month of October also. The real kicker was when I weighed myself and I was staring at a weight that was higher…

Fantastic results already, good for you! Add me if you like :)

Yes. Yes. Yes.

I end my meals with desert-even if it's just one cookie, at least something sweet tasting, every meal. Then it's a no brainer to strive for my macros with a planned snack in between meals. My weight loss is a testament to making sure you live your real life- in moderation. -45lbs and maintaining :) Best of luck!

yes, don't forget the fats! They are necessary to help things along! Probiotics really helped me, along with 2 servings of yogurt a day.

....Welllll then, you are exempt sir! Hope you're healing and all that...I'm sure you did not possess the "I can't actually look at the garments/things" attitude that goes along with the regular ppl who wear shades inside on purpose for no good reason :)
-
I was prompted to reevaluate my goals at -10lbs, I did it myself after that (at irregular intervals though) and was never prompted by mfp again (I lost 45lbs). Your BMR (how much you actually burn as a living being) changes as you drop weight. Your activity level may now be different than it was...which means your overall…

My irrational anger is for when people drag their feet. Oh when and people wear sunglasses >inside<.

Even 1500 calories is a deficit for even fairly sedentary people unless you weigh 100 lbs? Honestly, go into your settings and change your info- you will get a reasonable answer from MFP on what your maintenance calories should be. If you are logging accurately, (weighing all of your food) then you should have no problem…

So sorry! Over the course of 3 months I've lost about 5 pounds on 1400-1600 calories. I'm too thin and need to gain back 5lbs for health. However, I do not want to be that person who increased and keeps gaining. So I'm trying to figure out how to do it with minimum water weight and the best possible outcome. [/quote] What…

I understand your question and I see the attraction to shake life. My work life includes being unable to "sit down" to three meals every single day, so along with eating real food calories my meals and snacks also include protein powder and/or a bar a few days a week. After checking lots of labels the brands I choose…

A billion percent agree. I think those most successful in the long term with MFP have never "dieted" a day since joining!
-
Best Advice? Buy a good food scale and measure everything...you can be VERY wrong about portion sizes!!
-
Why is the additional 5 lbs necessary? your BMR plus activity level will dictate how many calories you need to eat to lose, maintain or gain weight. One pound is 3500 calories in either direction.

This recipe is for Basa Loins, (Costco $12.99 about 9 per bag). I prepare 5 loins thawed and marinated in the fridge for one hour with an even sprinkling of lemon juice, paprika, ginger, garlic powder, black pepper and pink salts (parsley if you like). Pan fried in 2 tbsp of olive oil on pre-heated pan. Cook on medium…

You may be surprised, but your choices right now will serve you life-long. No doubt you'll lose many kilo's by getting your family out of your head...

I think your measurements sound ideal! Actually fantastic for any Mom of 4!! I'm 5'5.5" and maintaining at 158-161 for 10 weeks at my second goal weight.Ultimately I'm just working on my gut/digestion issues and getting more active plus toning regardless what the scale says. BMI is 25.4 and Body Fat 29.1.

Do you have stairs in your house? How are you acquiring exercise calories (HRM/fitbit)? I think you should set MFP to active based on your current weight and eat less (only 1/3 max) of your exercise calories to adapt/compensate for less active days, if a Mom of 4 even has that LOL.
