For sure you're consistently in the "Active" category with that many steps. I also usually get in over 15K on work days and my fitbit will tell me I burned between 2400-2500+ calories for the day. I've been maintaining my weight for two months now with MFP set to Active, although I tend to follow 5/2 where I pay attention…

My number of "active" minutes is more accurately reflected since my update. I use a Zip and previously I would walk (at work) for up to 20 minutes consecutively several times a day at work and barely log any "active" minutes. Since the update my number of consecutive minutes walking is showing up as many more active…

Hamburger Gravy over boiled potatoes...or chips (french fries) deep fried in her million year old, lard and bacon grease filled chip pan!!

I agree with others, you are netting FAR too low for your activity level. You also are at an appropriate weight for your height already, so at most you should have your goal set to lose 0.5lb/week or a TDEE-5%. As far as trusting FitBit, I have one, have had it for 18 months, and find it to be pretty spot on. It doesn't…

That's similar to the amount of steps I get in an average day, I'm relating to your dilemma on net calories. After starting maintenance I eventually found I had to set MFP to Active to stop getting 450+ calories added to my day from my FitBit which left me with sometimes 1000 calories left to eat at 10 pm!! Since I set it…

I got a prompt at -10lbs? How far are you from your goal weight?

All of my adult life I was never a label reader, definitely not a dieter- if I wanted it, I ate it. Surely enough my weight crept up to just over 200lbs and the same weight I was the day before I gave birth to my daughter...except she's now 12 and I was tired of being asked when I'm due. I came across MFP (as an app on my…

I like MFP because I don't HAVE to say no to anything really. If I want it and it fits my caloric goal I say yes, maybe adjust the portion or make another choice so that I can have more. There is no need to "cheat" at all. That word plays negative on your outlook....have a look at your reports, how are you doing this week?…

my only tip that helped me was to get a "sippy cup". LOL find a nice tumbler with a lid that you like by colour or pattern - double wall style with a straw. Measure out if it fits about 2.5 or 3 cups and work your way through 3 of those a day. Morning/Lunch/Afternoon. I'm trying for 4 but I literally can not stop to pee…

...someone buy this guy the t-shirt already.

Yes. And I think since it's short term with an end goal recommended by a doctor there is no harm in making it happen. Walking at a brisk pace for 60 minutes is one way to burn nearly 500 calories. Also have a look at your foods and cut your salt intake down a bit for the two weeks should help.

I'm all about that!! My absolute favourite is the Gingerbread Oreo Yuuuummmmm! My current fave product is Classico Extra Garlic Bruschetta, soo much flavour and hardly any consequence!

Congrats on the great loss, you're nearly half way- great job!! I had approx 40 lbs to lose and changed my goal after the first 10 lbs, again at 20 and at 30lbs and got more calories all the way to maintenance so it was a much easier transition to a healthier life with food. - Since you're surely getting more active as…

What is your protein % set at? Along with the weight lifting you should increase your protein goal to 25 or 30% and in turn drop your carbs by the 5 or 10%. You should do some meal planning to get several meals in a day to make your macros happen and to not continue to lose weight like you wish.
-
Your current deficit of approximately 300 calories (2200-1900)is very realistic for long term lifestyle maintenance- are you actually losing about .5 lb a week? I would re-input your goal and at .5lb loss when you've lost your next 10-15 lbs.

3lbs is a blip in the memory of a lifetime timeline....you're steadfast or you wouldn't be on forum ;) Take a day off from exercise and get some extra sleep this week- it will drop your jet lag weight!
-
Well there is 13 weeks until May so it's definitely do-able!! Be careful to not starve your metabolism...being under 1200 net calories (after 33-50% exercise calories have been eaten) will have you stalling your own efforts- your body will protect itself and you'll lose muscle mass. 5 small meals a day if you have to but…

I am also a retail worker- logged over 16K steps at work yesterday with my FitBit! My MFP setting is at sedentary, goal of -.5lb per week and 1550 calories. My steps earned me an additional 800 calories- calculating that I burned 2600 calories for the day (notoriously over estimated however rarely off my more than 15% for…

Really great strategy!! It promotes self-awareness (hunger vs boredom) and I admire your dedication to portion control!!! (*)

I never met a type of candy or chocolatey something that I didn't like....oh, except for...nope that was edible too.

(*) Well said!! You get a gold star for being a Motivating Member! (*) Going to get some steps in at work since it's apparently a blizzard outside... :o

[/quote] I don't get why anyone would want to do that? That's like a runner getting within a few yards of the finish line and then walking the rest of the way in. If I'm within 10lbs of reaching my goal, I'm going to push all that much harder to reach it. I'm going to ignore the hunger and eat even less than I had been.…

You're fine, it takes an overage of 3500 calories to NOT lose 1lb. So basically if you are tracking accurately you will NOT lose .2 lb for the week- and considering If you're set to lose more than 1lb you probably won't even notice. Your profile shows that you are only 12lbs from your goal? Have you considered that you…
-
Congratulations on your weight loss! Your tracker indicates that you're fewer than 10 lbs from your goal weight, have you considered changing your goal in MFP to step down to -.5 lb per week loss to ready for maintenance? Your charts show that you're consistently starving, you definitely require more calories than 1500 per…

I am most concerned about making healthy real life choices with real food, all types- instead of unhealthy bingeing on any type of food, period.
