Ahh I want to spend a winter in Scotland. Okay just one haha.

Love it! Keep up the running. It does the spirit good. :)

That is awesome. congrats to you. That's an accomplishment most people cannot achieve. Always remember that!

I had my best run in months yesterday and it was due to motivation. I decided to listen to the Steve Austin podcast a friend recommended to me. He had one podcast about New Years Resolutions. Well he was cutting "wrestling style" motivational protos. I was almost laughing out loud as he laid into a guy who needed…

Yeah, I'm not one to normally want to wear pants when I run. Even this weekend when it was in the 30s, I just wore shorts and a hoodie. I figured some at least calf length pants/tights to go under my shorts might help on those days below 20!

Thanks!

It was about 38 degrees this morning but I put my time in!

Put in my first miles of November: a 5K (converted haha). My running 400 miles this month is off!

I love when people respond when they obviously don't read the whole thing. I think it's pretty clear from how I wrote it that I wasn't loving the things. I even said I didn't like em THAT much meaning..they were more a snack of convenience. Here's my own "SMH" now. sheesh But yeah, cutting out crap that you don't love is a…

I'm shooting for 400 minutes of running. My neighborhood is surrounded by tall trees and mostly in a valley. GPS signals aren't reliable enough to know exact mileage!

Hello all :)

Yep take your time, go slowly, if you have to repeat a day before making a "big increase in length of running" do it. It's worth it. I used to run a lot in my early 20s but let it slide for almost 12 years. The first day in my mid 30s when I began running again, I used one of those apps. It took a few days but then I…

Thinks Fezes are cool which they most certainly are!

I haven't drank any soft drinks in about 2 weeks which I am in love with Dr. Pepper Cherry but I haven't said to myself "you can't drink this." I just decided to see how drinking just water helped my weight loss and it has. I usually run a 5K or 10K once a month but for the past month, I've upped the number of maintenance…

Seriously.... you're just supposed to leave one hanging out in the opened pouch? NO MAN LEFT BEHIND! hahahaha
-
Maybe you need more hobbies then. :)

I don't feel deprived by a loss of Pop Tarts haha. There will never be a post about me never eating homemade cookies haha.
-
Consider it an extra challenge " I can't even work out and look how much I lost. :) "

I'm glad I've never needed coffee. My wife was telling me how many calories her creamer had. haha mind you she's 5"11 and about 125 so it's not like it's killing her. lol

Too many people here seem to log on just to be brash or rude. Don't let it get to you. I don't blame you for being depressed/upset heck maybe even worried you'll gain it back. Like some others said, I'd use MFP and adjust your calorie intake to a person who isn't active since you are hurt. Also, it's not going to be…

I don't think there's anything I die to have. I just find some things have a poor "ROI" to borrow a financial term. I just move on to something I like more.

I cut out chips almost completely. I never loved em but man that old adage "you can't eat just one" means I just avoid em. Alcohol is also something I cut back a lot on. Social get togethers I'll drink. When I get home after a long day for the past year, I don't drink a beer. I run :D
-
Well I'll never give up peanut butter cookies. I'm just saying Pop Tarts aren't exactly super high quality. They were more convenient so I didn't crave em daily. But I certainly won't "waste" calories on em. haha

shoes too tight is usually the first response but it's definitely not the only reason for the issue. Definitely not my issue.

I weigh myself daily but I certainly don't get crushed if I don't see a changed or a pound up swing in the day . Each Monday, I look back at what I weighed the previous Monday to get the gist of how I did over the entire week.
-
I have it at times. Sometimes it's when I run a long distance I haven't properly prepared for. Sometimes it's nerve compression.
-
I didn't see it but yeah last year when I started doing this I realized I had just always assumed it wasn't good for you. lol lesson learned.
