Beans and rice, Pork is lean, fish, I make salmon with some soy, ginger, garlic and misc other stuff over rice. You can use lean means like some cuts of beef, Play with MFP ingredients (verified only) and build plates, keeping your macros in the same ballpark. Sparing/grappling and stuff I assume about 80 cals/round (5…

I would add to this, protein/carbs after a workout. I've been doing a lot of hard MMA training, and after I tend to get 300 cals, milk and protein powder. Helps rebuild as I sleep. I mostly train from 6-830 in the eve.

A good rule of thumb for sustained average HR is 180-age. Max is 220-age, You can move the first number with training but typically it is a hard workout if you can stay around the 180-age mark. I'm 47 so that would mean 133 for me, I tend to workout at an average of 140-145. A fun test is to get on a bike, dreadmill,…

Every morning I'm home. I typically log it if I have two days that are the same though. I feel bad if I gain on one day and lose the next. Haven't really lost any weight.

Beans, Rice, Frozen vegies are good fillers to extend your food budget, eggs, chicken and pork are reasonably priced for protein. I have a family of 3 and live on about 250-300/month for food.

You can change weight by water content many lbs. It is not uncommon for fighters to drop 15-20lbs in a day and a half by water loading for a weigh-in and then regain it the night before a fight. Salt and carbs both cause you to retain water in your system, liver, muscles. Going out to eat and having a high carb salt dinner…

Finding common ground. We all can agree that too much carbs from simple sources is bad, straight up sugar, and the such. Reduction in those are beneficial. Protein and fats keep you full longer, therefore, it is easier to maintain a calorie deficit eating these. I try to eat 50% from carbs, ideally more complex or in whole…

Oh, 10 minutes of abs, what are you doing for your lowerback, lots of back issues are imbalance issues between the front and the back of your core,

After a hard workout it is good to eat some carbs and protein, typically like 40g carb, 30g protein, This is an easy way to do that and helps with recovery in terms of energy and also helps muscle gain so your body doesn't break down what you have already for food. I do it because often after a hard workout I don't feel…

Speed is relative, I would recommend getting your heart rate up to the 160-180 range during a 40s sprint, then letting it drop to 130-140 then sprint again. You can do longer sprints with longer rests but that has a different effect. There is a great book, Ultimate MMA conditioning, it is somewhat specific for combat…

The simple rules are if you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight, that is simple physics and not debatable. Now it is hard to do that sometimes. Less processed and whole foods fill you up more. Sugar and highly refined foods make you hungry 30 minutes after eating, that's why coke doesn't fill you up like an…

Carb's are not bad, sugar and processed carbs are not great as it makes you more hungry, but if you burn more cals than you take in you will lose weight..
