Yay!!!! You look great!

You can always get the bikini and wear it just for hubby if you're not comfortable with it in public.
-
Yeah, exactly.

Betsy has her own thread now called Heavens to Betsy.

Be careful out there. It's easy to heap 3000 calories onto a plate at Chinese buffets.

Many people have found that, without using a scale, they are eating hundreds of calories more than they think they are. I wasn't able to regularly lose weight until I accurately measured what I was eating and that meant using a scale for solid food.[/quote] Yep. That was me too

My husband married his first wife when he was 27 and she was 60. Not rich or attractive, I guess it was love. Lasted I over 25 years. There's a ton more to the story but I won't go into it here.

Just one? I was thinking doughnuts until I read about liver and licorice.

Haha! Gotta have priorities.

A lot, if not most, protein powders will denature when exposed to high heat.

Great work! Congratulations.

Yes, you might not feel great if all you eat is junk food, but you'll lose weight. I always leave some calories available for a cookie or two or some other treat.

WLS is not failure. It's a tool. And don't let anyone tell you it's the easy way to lose weight. You're doing great and we are here to support you on your continued journey. I had WLS 14 years ago. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

Great job!

Betsy's puppy dances too. When she's not dancing by the shore, she had a beautiful garden that she tends and hosts afternoon tea, sometimes for the local children.

Libra is an Android app that "smoothes" out daily weights to show more of a trend. It's useful for people like me that step on the scale daily. This morning I figured out that the 2026 date was from an input error that I made, accidentally logging a higher (former) weight into the app for a date in the future, so it looked…

I'm so glad I found this thread. Reading your comments is so encouraging. I'm 56, 5'5", started at 208 a month ago, current weight 198.5, and right now I've set a goal weight of 140. I've found MFP invaluable already and am looking forward to a healthier, more fit future.

There is a tool on here that will help you calculate calories in your own recipes. Weigh the empty pot, weigh the finished product, weigh your portion and divide it into the whole.

The first month or so is not generally a lot of fun. Relax. Your doctor shouldn't have predicted a specific loss for you per month. It will come off. And your weight will stall sometimes. It'll work. IT WILL WORK.

I suspect it has to do with how long I've been giving it info. In a few weeks, there will probably be a more reasonable prediction. I just saw that and thought it was hilarious.

That's great.

I can wag my tail. Don't know exactly what it means in this context, but I'm game.

Katie, I have about 50-60 still to lose. I'm just reporting what Libra told me. I have no intention to taking that slowly.

Congrats!

As of this morning, I'm out of the 200's and into the 100's again. Wooo!

OK. Just finished Level 1 Day 1. Proud of myself. Can't do a jumping jack to save my life.
