1.I'm having trouble keeping my pants up at work today. Time to move down a size 2. Last week, we went to Las Vegas and walked miles. Also went for a great, pretty challenging hike at Red Rock Canyon and I didn't feel like I was going to die in the middle of the hike.

Feel free to send a friend request. I'm past the baby stage, sending my last one to college this fall. But I'm a veteran at the weight loss game too. Working to lose about 60 or so pounds still.

Oooh, hoovhome, do I sense a possible budding romance?
-
Good thinking.

I was stuck until I bought a food scale. Many of us underestimate what we eat. Even with measuring cups, it's easy to be way off.
-
10 lbs in one week?!? Maybe your body needs to catch up to that.
-
Great results and excellent principles. Thank you.

Great job!

SW :208 CW: 196 GW: 140 12 lbs down.

I went from a size 14 to a 2-4. 60 lbs. Even though my clothes size changed dramatically, I couldn't see it in the mirror. That may be different than your situation. I just had a serious mental block after being overweight my entire adult life. Our brains take longer to lose weight than our bodies I guess.

I dug my bike out of the garage and took it in for some tlc. I'll start there and see how it goes. Thanks so much for all the advice. See you in the cycling threads.

Thanks
-
Yeah. Pretty much. I gave in last week and it's already made a difference.
-
Wow! That's great. Thanks for your inspiration.

I decided to spend my lunch calories yesterday on Reese's cups. It was worth it.

Didn't know there are biking forums. Very cool. I'm thinking I'll get the old bike serviced as a first step. Maybe I'll be just as happy with it.

We used Shimano components. I don't know how much they've improved in recent years, but they were good components at the time. Very happy. I have to admit, when I went shopping yesterday, I coveted the new shifters. I have the old thumb shifters that sit on near the stem.

Betsy's at the local farmer's marketing this morning. Of course, she rode her bike there. Yeah, she has the jag in the garage, but it's such a beautiful morning to be out and active.
-
Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I just need to take my old bike in for a tune-up. My exhusband has always been a serious rider, and he fitted the bike with great components. The frame is chrome-moly (I think, it's been a lot of years). At the time, it was considered a pretty light frame.

I've found the support makes a huge difference!

14 years out from RNY. Welcome.

Quasita, I think I like you a lot.

Honey, it's time to leave disgusted behind and look forward. I was over 300 lbs when I delivered by last little one at the age of 40. It's all relative. You're here now and putting together a plan to get healthier. Be warned: it won't be linear. You will have setbacks. But the important thing is to keep working your plan…

Looking good!
