I'm also sorry to hear about the breakup! I've definitely been motivated in the past by a breakup as well. I think it's a good way to help feel better about yourself especially if you're still sad because of it. And if you do surprise them by looking great then all the better. :)

My husband and I are both easily able to influence each other's decisions, so any time either one of us has tried being healthy on their own it's only lasted a couple of weeks because we just don't have the willpower to be good if the other one isn't. Anyway, we were making really unhealthy decisions that we know had to…

You know, gaining only 9lbs back isn't that bad, it can be recovered pretty quickly. The longer you put off getting things in gear, the more you'll have gained and the harder it'll be to get back to how you were doing. If you need to have a snack like chips or a chocolate bar, buy the smallest bag possible of them that you…

You should add me! We're both 5'7" and my highest was 233! I managed to lose 60lbs before I got pregnant and now I'm working off the baby weight and then some. I have struggled with committing as well, but so far I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight and you can do it too!

I also was hoping to become more active. Another thing was that I could still only fit into my pregnancy jeans 5 months after I had my son, and I found that embarrassing. I was unwilling to dish out the money to buy a new wardrobe and was feeling generally unhealthy anyway so instead my husband and I joined a gym and have…

I tooootally understand the 'getting greedy' feeling. For the first 3/4 weeks I lost 4lbs a week, and then I had a week where I only lost 1.5lbs. In my head I know that 1.5lbs is still a really good loss, but after seeing 4lbs off for multiple weeks in a row I definitely felt disappointed. Right now I'm working on trying…

I just started using MFP to log my meals, so I'm not quite sure yet. I don't think I'll be adding things like diet pop(I try to have mostly water anyway), gum, coffee, or tea. If I'm having some veggies in an omelette or on a salad I just add a guesstimation to what calories I know are there. But I don't usually worry too…

I only realized you're supposed to eat back those calories like a week ago. It explained some things from the first two weeks of weight loss. :)

My Mum is a health nut so any comments I've gotten have been from my husband's family(which I'm silently thankful for because I care more about what my own Mum thinks o.O). I was also bigger when I started working, so when I lost 60lbs before I had my son, I got a couple of comments from coworkers about how fast I was…

I can relate to how you feel - 20lbs down I took pictures to compare and didn't see ANY difference. Not only that, but I felt my side and stomach had MORE rolls that before. I have a couple of theories! The first is that there's a drastic difference between how good you feel losing weight, and how much you physically…

Helloooo! I just joined MFP so like I have no one in my friends list? So basically please add me. :) I'm 26 with a 7 month old, and my husband and I are both pretty darn nerdy. I like thinks like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games, Agents of Shield, Jane Austen books/movies, and playing Mario Kart and…

Because I only have four more pounds to go until I'm half way there. :)

This is fantastic! Once I got big enough that I couldn't cross one leg over the other comfortably, that soon became one of my NSV goals and so far it's the only one I've reached. Some others are: -Fit into the only jeans I kept from years ago. -Be comfortable tanning on the beach next summer in a bikini. -Get a good…

Hello! I just joined MFP and I was already hoping to lose about 25 by Christmas, is it alright if I join you guys? My husband and I weigh ourselves on Saturday mornings, so I'll just give you guys those numbers. It's just nice to have some accountability. :) Last week I was 188.6lbs, this week I weighed in at 185.4lbs.…
