  • I just have a couple things to say! You've been doing really, really well with your weight loss so far and are continuing to do so. It's very normal to plateau for a little while, and even though I know that I'm always super discouraged when it happens so I can definitely understand that. I'm still working on losing my…
  • I'm with the group of people who don't necessarily ban the food, just ban it from being kept in the house. I have tried to have peanut butter in my house, and I might be able to control myself around it for like a week tops, but eventually I will cave and that whole jar will be gone in two days. It's awful. When there's…
  • Fantastic and inspirational transformation! It's so motivating to read about someone who didn't give up even when they hit a rough patch. Great work!
  • I lost some weight a couple years ago and bought three size small cute scrub tops for work. They were tight at the time but I thought I would keep losing and they would fit me soon. Happily(though unfortunately in weight loss terms), i got pregnant and gained 30 back through the pregnancy, but now I'm 45lbs down from there…
  • Chinese take-out or all you can eat sushi
  • There was a pair of jeans in my closet that I couldn't get passed my hips, and I'm wearing them comfortably right now. So now I'm aiming to fit into a sundress I have, and also to be confident enough to wear a bikini this summer.
  • Wow, that's awesome! When I started my size 16s were tight, and now my 12s are getting pretty loose, I'm hoping to end around size 8ish, but I haven't been this small in almost ten years and I know getting older and having a baby changes shapes so we'll see. lol :)
  • SW: 169 January 17th - 167.2lbs January 24th - 165.6lbs Loss so far: 3.4/20 I haven't consistently lost like this for a good month and a half, this challenge has really kicked me into gear! Good work everyone!
  • Wow I was just trying to read up on how periods influence weight loss and it's being mentioned here right when I need to see it. Now that I'm about 15lbs from my goal I definitely see a gain/stall the week before and during, despite being extra careful with logging and going to the gym as many days as I can. That could…
  • Like everyone has been saying, it depends on where you're starting. When I started my goal was to lose 50-60lb. It's been five almost five moths and I'm down 44lbs so far, but things have really slowed after the first two months. I've lost 5lbs since mid-December and I don't expect that to pick up much, but I continue to…
  • Wow, it's great to see how everyone makes things work for them! I admire every one of you, especially those getting up in the early hours to workout. Thankfully I won't have to worry about getting up as early as 4:30 in order to fit everything in, at least not yet. My main shift is 3-11 and we can count on one nap a day…
  • I've hated two movies with a passion, and they are Burn After Reading and Walk Hard. I guess it could be argued that Walk Hard is one of those 'meant to be stupid' movies, but even knowing that I just UGHHH. I wanted to walk out of the movie theatre so, so badly. I didn't though, because my boyfriend at the time liked it.
  • I forgot I had signed up for this! I was doing really well before the holidays but since my last weigh in (December 20th) I had been gaining/losing the same 2-3lbs. I've been back to being good since last week, and did my first official weigh in of the new year on saturday. December 20th - 169lbs January 17th - 167.2lbs…
  • I bf my son exclusively until he was 6 months old, now he's 10 months and he eats solids like a champ along with the bfing. I was already overweight when I got pregnant and then gained 30lbs throughout the pregnancy. I lost about 15lbs immediately after he was born and then felt so thrown off and ate poorly and gained 5 of…
  • 1. My in laws always have chips/crackers/cookies/candy out for hours before we actually eat Christmas dinner, and I'm going to have one of each and that's IT, and then fill my dinner plate once. It'll be tough because they're very much "There's more food left! Go eat thirds!" Kind of people. Lol 2. Gym membership runs out…
  • This is great! My goal weight is somewhere between 20-30lbs less than I am now, but I had 60-70lbs to lose originally and I've been successful because I've been setting short term goals for myself. My current goal was to weigh 165 by Christmas(and I'm currently 169 so I'll JUST miss this goal lol) but I hadn't thought…
  • Jemhh your stats are what I'm hoping for. :) I never remember to write down my measurements but the last time I measured I weighed 175, waist was about 33" and hips were 43" at 5'6".
  • I find swimming the most enjoyable! I'm planning on joining a rowing league in the spring and I'm pretty sure I'll really enjoy that, too.
  • I'm putting a HRM on my Christmas list lol
  • Oh wow that's cool! So according to the calculation, I burn 194 calories doing 20 mins of this. Not bad. :)
  • Ahh perfect. Thanks!
  • I just did day 1 of Level 1 today and I think I'm going to do the same one tomorrow before I move on to day 2. Lol! What do you guys do when it comes to inputting it into your exercise log?
  • Ahh I'm nerdy too! GoT, Sherlock, LotR, HP, Dr. Who, but like, also Agents of Shield, and Avatar/Legend of Korra? And Firefly, and I play some games: Munchkin, Boss Monster, Settlers of Catan, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, and I'm excited that Majora's Mask is coming out for 3DS because I do better with smaller screens and…
  • Speedos are swimwear, so it's fine. A good looking guy will still be good looking whether he's wearing board shorts or jammers or a speedo or whatever. The main thing is to make sure your bathing suit FITS. Also maybe I'm weird but when it comes to swimmers I find guys shoulders/back super sexy compared to how they look in…
  • 45 minutes mostly freestyle, with a handful of backstroke and breaststroke, and just kicking thrown in. And one lap of butterfly for fun. I swim at my gym's pool but I'm not sure exactly how big it is. O.o one of these days I'll figure it out lol.
  • For me, eating well is definitely correlated with planning ahead. Dinners especially. We have our meals for the next week planned out, plus I have a few servings of soup and chili in the freezer if things get too hectic to actually make dinner. But really it's just willpower. You just have to tell yourself that you planned…
  • Last week was such a good week for me and now it just feels like I've slowed wayyyy down. Still eating and exercising the same, though, so I'm just going to be patient. Also I plan on doing the first couple 30 day shred sessions tomorrow and Sunday. Today I'll walk with babe in a carrier and swim some laps - so like I'm…
  • Thanks, I just joined the swimming group too!
  • I was also exactly five lbs down the week after my TOM, and I had hardly lost anything the week before, so I chalked it up to the bloating/water retention that happens during TOM. :)
  • I love my hair colour and my shoulder blades. XD
