  • I've been using the StrongLifts.com/5x5 app since January. It's the first time in my life I feel like I actually know what's going on when I go to the gym. I've been cutting the last 6 months so I'm not seeing much in the way of gains but once I reach my body fat % goal I'll start eating at a surplus to start seeing gains.

  • Hey folks. Started losing at 41. Down 80+ lbs so far in the last year. I eat paleo, I've been doing 5x5 for 6 months. After about 20 years of fighting obesity I finally found a combination that works for me thanks to stronglifts.com and myfitnesspal.com ... There's before and after photos on my profile. EDIT: Feel free to…
  • I've been in ketosis since October 2014 and my goal has been no more than 19g carbs daily. It's tough keeping that low. Friend me if you want to see what I've been eating. EDIT: I'm trying to hit 150+g per day of protein and under 19g per day of carbs. Fat percentage is free to fluctuate. This is very hard to hit…
  • I dread the DeadLift. I'm doing StrongLifts 5x5 and I do warmup work. My warmup is 135lbs now... I walk up to the bar and say to myself... "Oh Lord Almighty, this is my *warm up* weight." I'm so glad my program is only one set of 5 on alternating 'B' workout days (with a warmup weight raised 3 times). The deadlift is so…
  • I'm trying out http://stronglifts.com/5x5/ ... at 5:30am because I don't want to deal with gym rats ... it's basic strength training. You can buy stuff if you want, but the basic app is free. I like it because it starts you at as close to 0 lbs as it can and you start slowly. It's a 12 week starter program so you can try…
  • In 2013 I was about 320 lbs and avoided scales so that weight is a guess. After a year struggling with weight loss, I started tracking on myfitnesspal at 285 lbs in October. My target weight is 197 lbs. Today I'm 266 lbs! But, I've got quite a way to go yet. The tracking tool has really helped me correlate diet and weight…
  • I'm impressed! I'm 2 months in and my progress is no where near as visible! Good job!
  • No. But it depends on a lot of factors Assuming you are interested in a committed relationship, one thing you'll want to think about is how you'll age together. (If you're just short term dating then my advice is not for you. If you aren't interested in very long-term and life-long relationships ... then don't worry about…
