  • Weird, it only posted part of my response. :'( I also stated buy some v-necks and some flouncy skirts, because at 56 or any age we should all be so lucky!!! :*
  • I'm going to point out the obvious here... You're awesome. And 138 w DDs at 5'5"??! Well, as my doc pointed out to me when I was trying to lose after-baby weight "there's 5lbs and there's 5lbs" - so, using my doc's crude common sense, you're more like 128lbs... Your scale doesn't take your DD-genetics into account!
  • you're welcome, AND I was wrong - I just didn't check my junk email folder. I DID get access to the whole P90X meals and calendars with my $60 (less with credits earned by just using Bing). so...really, overall, I think it's a good deal. I've modified my caloric intake and category percentages to more align with the P90X…
  • It's an app in the games section on Xbox One....I don't know if it's on 360. Then within that app, there are free and for purchase workouts much like the DVD workouts you can buy from celeb trainers, etc. Almost all of my gamer points are Fitness Points because I don't actually 'game' often, but when I DO, I do happen to…
  • I am and have been for quite awhile - in fact when I first did a search here on MFP I couldn't find anyone else using the kinect/fitness app. So cool to find more people using it. I have all but 1 of Jillian Michael's stuff, the new YO:30 is really freakin' good, and I have P90X which is a total butt kicker - did 45 cardio…
  • love ground beef....not a fan of turkey in any form. my personal thoughts: I'll make nachos or tacos, etc. but I don't buy tortilla chips, etc. - I'll buy corn tortillas and fry them at the time, that way I don't have excess on hand and only make portions in ratio to the family. I'm also a sucker for Schnippers NYC mac n…
  • I've actually discussed a lot of this with my coach's wife who is also a trainer/coach and a couple of things have always stood out in our conversations...for one (and she trains primarily female clients) is overall diet...in her experience, her female clients tend to eat a very carb heavy diet with inadequate/low protein.…
  • This is a great thread. I'm with you! I used to be able to go "oh, dang, I'm up a size, time to go back down" and now....yeah, not so much. Same as you, not heavy, per se - I'm within 'healthy' range still of weight and fat %, but at the top end. have you also noticed some, ahem, hormone flux? I'm not nearly…
  • oh, yeah, xbox one is way better. I have my MS band on and did a workout this morning, and there are calorie discrepancies as I suspected. The Kinect misses about ~100 calories - I assume all my floor work. Common sense would tell you that, though. I'm dripping sweat down my back and I only burned 250 calories?? Riiiight.…
  • oh, and yeah - when I'm doing floor work, like crunches, it doesn't see me very well - that part is true. but I don't need my form checked so much when I'm doing sit-ups, you know? I care more about form when I'm doing kick boxing. so maybe I don't get all my gold stars, lol, but I get enough, and the Microsoft band will…
  • I LOVE my xbox one Kinect w fitness app. I have almost all the Jillian Michael's stuff, and while it's a bit of a chunk of money, like $15-$80 depending on what programs/games you buy through the app, I love it. There's a few freebies on there too. It's those achievement points, gold starts and silly little advancement…
  • wow, that's quite a bit. do they have part time options? I use the 24 hour fitness chain and pay $80 for 2. no restrictions on locations/times. there are pools in most of them, all anything else you could ask for; daycare is separate, but don't use it - we just take turns going instead. we're in Portland, OR but travel to…
  • PS, I have the grace of an ostrich on acid, so I really like the AMT at the gym (keeps me in line) - and with ear buds, who notices other people? or the Kinect at home. the Kinect lets me see my own form so I can see if I'm more "senile camel" than "military push-up." :#
  • I love LOVE love the xbox one Kinect sports app. now, sure, that's free because we already have one, sure, but if you can get an old wii or something at gamestop or what have you, it's an option...or library dvds for the living room. that would be good too.
  • hi! I divorced 5 years ago, and also have 3 at home. :D and my right leg pronates so my right knee is wonky too. read: I look like a goofy ostrich when I run. lol. totally new again here and trying to be more selfish, in a good way. :D I'll add you!
  • oh, duck confit, yes. I make my own and store it in the fridge for just this treat....totally worth every calorie/fat....all the nom.
  • oh, yeah - also 2nd booze. I gave that up almost 3 years ago.
  • lol, great topic. I'm a dairy fanatic, so gotta cut out the half/half in the AM coffee, and downshift to 2%. I'm in mourning over that one still, but not worth it - not when I can save that for real cheese. I 2nd pita chips and add Juanita's corn chips.
  • I use it in salads. I have some precooked in the Tupperware in the fridge, put a half cup on a green salad instead of croutons. or use it in a 'bowl' like Laughing Planet or such with beans and greens for lunch.
  • (goes back to yesterday's food log, adds those 6 pieces of candy corn she forgot.)
  • yay! let me know how you like it. like feta, it's not a melting cheese, it's a crumbly, on tacos or mexi salad cheese. I love it.
  • all of them! I'm not a sweet or salty cravings person, I'm a dairy cravings. that said, a homemade chevre, or perhaps an acidic Roquefort with dates. yeah. cheeeese.... ricotta salata, mozzarella and feta are all salty cheeses. have you bought cotija? I bet you'd really enjoy that as well.
  • this is such a nice intro post and surprisingly refreshing. thanks.
  • Hey, noob here and all. I'm a total fan of the rant. a safe place to blow off steam is a good thing, and I get the snobs and, the other side, the assumptions. one of my bffs is an overweight man, over 400lbs, and he flippin' smokes me on the AMT - just destroys it )in the best way possible.) Judgy is going to be judgy out…
