Theoretically you can get all your micros from just fruit and veg ( minus B12, which you get from a supplement, or from eating dirt). But, it takes more veg than most people, myself included, are willing to eat in a daily basis.

I think when you have a study that includes historical data, it will paint a less than positive picture. VLCD diets were the gold standard for many decades. I suffered through many of them as a youth when my mother put the whole house on a diet with her. Unlimited iceberg lettuce and yellow mustard, and 6 vitamin…

Speaking as a gluten free vegan: No, it does not take a lot of supplements to get what I need. I do drink protien shakes out of laziness, but not out of need. Otherwise, I drink fortified milk just as you do, only my milk is made from almonds, and has b12/D instead of A/D. My kids eat the same diet (minus the shakes), and…

Just under a month. But, I started at over 300lbs - and then I gained some back, hovered for a while, and kicked my own *kitten*.

I was veggie in my youth, and always missed it. My household ( excluding the cat) have been vegan almost 6m now.

I try to be ecologically responsible. The first thing I look for is where it's produced. Organic but shipped in from Chile uses more reasouces than non-organic native foods. I try to avoid GMO because I want farmers, and not corporations, to own seeds. health wise, I don't know if there is any difference. Ethically and…

No, cravings are a preference, not a need.

Compared to some diets, 50% IS carb control.

I like Dr Bronners pure castile soap. It is non toxic, so theoretically you could eat it,

You'll notice cardio improvement from the treadmill, but body composition changes come from weight bearing exercise. You don't need to gym to body weight exercises like squats, lunges, wall push-ups, bear crawls, and so on.

That being said, I personally did eat under 1200 yesterday - because I was full all day from the 8+ cups of popcorn I'd eaten the night before. I'm too old to snack like that before bed.

For some, there is also this want to prove weight gain wasn't their fault, but due to outside forces. This becomes a forum to show how little they do eat, usually followed by the "I can't loose weight" threads. They will log for show, with horrible inaccuracies, and "these calories don't count" snacks. ( I've had several…

There comes a point where you either have to reduced your expected weight lost/week, or be very hungry. You may be there now. I've had to drop from 2 lbs/week to 1.5, or face a daily max of 1300 cal. I chose food.

This, and coke zero while studying for exams

Beans, lentils, peas, potatoes, asparagus, hemp hearts - basically Google vegan protein, and you'll get a large list

I'm glad your name is Robert, or that would of been even worse.

It's the carbs from fiber you don't count. So, if an item has 43g of carbs, and 6g of fiber, then you'd only account for 36g of carbs. Not important, unless you need to count carbs. Then, those fiber reductions can equal a lot more food.

My DH dropped weight very quickly when he first started Adderol. Those effects wear off, and he got fat again. Now, it's diet and exercise for both of us.

I lost my first 50 lbs using a treadmill for exercise. It helped with aerobic conditioning. But, my caloric deficit caused my weightloss. Exercise doesn't burn the calories you'd hope it would.

Hey, me too (238). Congrats!

try sedentary.

OP, read the nutrional info, start doing the math, and odds are it won't seem worth it. One candy bar = half my supper.

Genius!

Don't look at the end point. It gets frustrating to focus on something far away. Make your goals every 10lbs ( those mini goals will come quickly for the first while), and then party your pants off every 10% ( a goal that shrinks as you do). You will do this.

I did about two weeks with no refined sugars or syrups, but fruit and dried fruits were ok. By the end, the fruit was sweet enough, and I craved less treats. Now, if I want a treat, one date or a fruit leather is my allowance, and one a general basis it's enough. (I do use sugars and syrups again, but on a much more…

Hey, I'm a high raw vegan myself, and so are my kids. As children they eat mostly fruit, because they can't get enough calories on kale. As an adult, I'm eating my leafy greens, cabbages, and other less glamorous food first, because my health comes before the desire to blend 20 dates and 10 bananas into a slurrey. Beans,…

That's raw vegan coco puffs, unless it's after 4. >:)
