You'll notice cardio improvement from the treadmill, but body composition changes come from weight bearing exercise. You don't need to gym to body weight exercises like squats, lunges, wall push-ups, bear crawls, and so on.0

Treadmill (cardio-pulmonary exercise) will definitely help you improve how you look & feel, and you will notice positive changes in a matter of days provided you also manage your nutrition. Adding resistance training (i.e., weights) will optimize your effort. You don't need a gym; you can do a lot for yourself with body weight exercises.
The best exercise is the next one you do.
How much you improve — and how quickly — will of course be in direct proportion to the discipline you apply. Doing just a little is something, though, and that's way-way better than nothing!0 -
You'll see the most results from diet. Cardio will help the deficit and is for health, weights to help maintain muscle mass while losing.0
