You're looking good. Eff settling. I'm also 62, not planning on settling until I'm in the coffin.

Mexico figured it out: https://www.eater.com/2016/7/6/12107050/mexico-junk-food-tax-success "In 2014, Mexico instituted an 8 percent tax on processed foods that had more than 275 calories per 100 grams, in an attempt to reduce junk food purchases" Not saying this is right, wrong or indifferent, but yes, you can come up…

That would be my understanding also. The quote says "fat loss training program" He's saying you have to take care of business the other 23 hours also.

Wow, how can anyone woo this?

Sure donuts have nutrients, although the fats, proteins and carbs in them are the "bottom feeders" in that the doughnut is very nutrient poor for the calories in the product. Understand all food has nutrients. However in the context of a heath and fitness site where many confused people come to learn about nutrition, IMO…

Excise taxes are taxes paid when purchases are made on a specific good, such as gasoline. Excise taxes are often included in the price of the product. There are also excise taxes on activities, such as on wagering or on highway usage by trucks. One of the major components of the excise program is motor fuel.…

Obesity related medical spending is responsible for over 20% of US healthcare spending http://www.healthycommunitieshealthyfuture.org/learn-the-facts/economic-costs-of-obesity/
-
So I take it you're good with charging the obese more for health insurance? I'm good with that too.
-
Nothing wrong with an occasional doughnut, but someone saying doughnuts have nutritional value on a heath and fitness forum makes me want to wash my eyes out with bleach. The quality of carbs and fats in the typical doughnut are very poor from a healthy diet standpoint.
-
Because it's a societal problem? Just like everyone pays taxes on alcohol although the vast majority drink it without issue.
-
That would be fine. There are taxes on junk foods/drinks in some counties/areas of the US.
-
You're talking about a very small, probably less than 1% of the population. You could add a couple other makers such as waist/hip ratio and problem solved

Missed, it no great loss.

A $50 garage sale treadmill would be a POS. If that is all you can afford, don't spend the $.

Both of the cites mentioned are among the highest cost of living in the US. People demand big$ to work there, employers say, what benefit do I get from this?

The companies you mentioned above: Amazon in distribution, Boeing in manufacturing, Alaska Air and Expedia in travel, Starbucks, Nordstroms, REI and Costco in retail, MSNBC in communications, T-Mobile in cell and Microsoft in software. Nordstrom will go they way of other brick and mortar retailers soon. The others real…

Manufacturing and programming are lower cost in India. Not saying its going to happen but I bet nobody thought the Detroit in the late 1950s would become today's Detroi either

What seats in any public place are cleaned between patrons?

77% of the US population has smartphones. Can check on line if really care. http://www.pewinternet.org/fact-sheet/mobile/

Not in the least. Those that care about the number of calories they consume have a pretty good idea on calories in foods.

People with good jobs are leaving IL. so higher end housing prices stay down compared to "hot" areas of the country.

Superior for what purpose? If you are training specifically for outdoor cycling sure. If you're training for cardio efficiency/calorie burn, an air style bike will enable you to get your heart rate higher and burn more calories because muscle activity isn't limited to the legs, the arms and back are also involved. In…

The fan bikes are great. Literally a tool for those in cardio rehab to world class athletes. Not something that can be said for most exercise equipment. If you're looking to get one consider the Rogue Echo bike. Lower cost and better reviews.vs.the Air Assault or Schwinn Aredyne Pro. We got one a couple months ago. Great…

Have you been telling her about your diet and exercise routine? If you're not mentioning it she probably doesn't bring up hers.

Why not do a fully body workout 3 days a week? Most sources will suggest working a muscle group 2-3 times a week. If you have a coach, what do they suggest? If you're determined to do each body part once a week, don't make arms (the smallest muscle group) what you would add on a 4th day.

Hope you're not taking in much more caffeine during the rest of the day. Most mainstream medical experts say up to 400mg is safe daily dose for most adults. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/nutrition-and-healthy-eating/in-depth/caffeine/art-20045678

Maybe he does't like coffee? If you're that worried about cost, one should just drink the coffee as a pre-workout. Also, cost related, most pre-workouts cost less per serving than a can of Red Bull, Monster or any of that other crap if he wants a caffeine buzz

Get used to short exposure to the heat, like not running the air conditioning in the car. Sit outside, etc. As you get used to a hot environment the easier it will be to exercise in it.
