Thanks to all who responded. I decided to hire a personal trainer. My first session begins tomorrow morning at 5:30. I am so excited!!!
-
Thanks everyone. One of the reasons I am considering a trainer is because I don't know anything about strength training. The first 30 pounds I lost was due to cardio at home. (Dancing dvds). With that routine, I became "skinny fat". So I really need to learn about lifting weights and toning muscle.
-
Thanks for your help!
-
Do both! I made the mistake of only doing cardio, I dropped 40 pounds but became "skinny fat". Now I am lifting weights to tone up my body!

I have lost about 2 pounds since switching over to maintenance last month.
-
I eat 3 meals a day plus several snacks. I feel like I am eating all day long but I just can't seem to eat the full 2,050 calories the computer calculated for me.
-
I am in the maintenance phase of my fitness journey so I am allowed 2,050 calories a day. I usually eat around 1,500 calories. The amount of sleep is not an issue for me. I get about 8-9 hours of sleep a night. However, I agree I could eat more bananas and oranges. I stopped drinking coffee about a month ago instead I…

My son is 16-months-old. I gained a total of 40 pounds during my pregnancy and I've lost 31 since joining MFP. These last few pounds are being really stubborn however I am getting lots of compliments and even my pre-pregnancy clothes fit looser.

My cable provider is Comcast. Under the On Demand option, there are several free workouts. My favorite is hip-hop cardio but I also enjoy yoga, pilates, belly dancing and lifting weights with a tv personal trainer.

Cardio always works for me. The more sweat, the better! Lol
-
Physically, I am always exhausted, hot and sweaty. Emotionally, I feel accomplished! The next day, I am starving around breakfast time.
-
Thank you so very much!

I started this discussion with one simple question. Does anyone have any suggestions on brands of dairy-free yogurt? For those of you who have been genuine in your responses, thank you!!! However there have been a couple of posters who called my decision ( as a grown 35 year old woman) stupid and ridiculous. For those…

I tried to find those products at Wal-Mart yesterday but couldn't find them Thanks for the tip. I guess I will have to take a trip to Whole Foods..
-
My plan is to cut out both dairy and soy products. Thanks for the feedback!
-
I chose seven days just as a starter time. I don't feel comfortable trying anything new for a long period of time. Just taking it slow!
-
Thanks so much. I appreciate your response and encouragement!!!

My co-worker's regimen is very similar to what I've been eating since joining MFP 160 days ago. The only difference is the dairy and gluten free foods. Thought I'd try it for 7 days and see how it goes!
-
Thanks everyone! No, I am not lactose intolerant. I simply want to cut out dairy products. One of my co-workers is a former NFL player. I am going to try his "diet" regimen for one week, which includes cutting out dairy and gluten products among other things.

Yes, now that it's getting darker later I can talk my son for a walk in the stroller.
-
I agree that I need to workout more, however, I have a 1-year-old son who takes up a lot of my time! Plus I have a full-time job!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I am going to lower my daily calorie intake. I would like to lose 1.5 to 2 pounds a week. I will try that for a while and also buy a food scale.
-
I started off with a 1,730 calorie goal, lost 10 pounds, it went down to 1,610. My co-worker suggested I increase my daily calories since I haven't lost weight in a month. She is a workout fanatic. She eats really clean and is training for a body building competition so I trust her advice.

* No, I do not own a food scale. I need to invest in one. * I have logged every since day for 136 days * I use homemade entries from the database when I cook (fry) my food. I only list generic when the name brand of the food is not in the database * I never eat back my exercise calories * I will admit -- whenever I list…

I I lowered my calorie goal after the first 10 pounds lost then again after 20 pounds lost. I still didn't lose any more weight. One of my co-workers who exercises and diets religiously told me to up my calories and see if that works.

That looks delicious!

So I visited Whole Foods Market today. I see what everyone is talking about now. That place is pricey. I couldn't believe their small pre-packaged salads were $9. You can get a larger size salad at Wal-Mart for half the price. I did end up buying a few items at Whole Foods, mostly snack foods made by 365 organic.

I just received my tax refund so I might splurge and spend extra!! LOL

Thanks everyone. Even today, I am forcing myself to eat. Last night, I ate half of a microwave dinner then took my medicine. It wasn't enough. Went running to the bathroom 30 minutes later . I didn't think about the fact I should drink my calories, as one poster put it. I think I will try a milkshake for dinner! lol
