  • Fabulous! Well done. Definitely hit the gym or find some other form of exercise that you enjoy, but ease into it at a level you can manage to maintain. Strength training would be ideal. See if thre are any classes or free introductory sessions with a personal trainer.
  • Ouch... I thought this was going to be a post celebrating deadlift day... aka the best day.
  • Sounds OK until you get leaner, 1% would be too much for me.

  • Rocking! Keep going!
  • No. But here's a suggestion; you could customise your meal names so that one of them is called "Eaten" and then move the food into there as you eat it. Or do it vice versa; have a "to eat" meal and then move the food to the appropriate meal if you want to track meal timing.
  • Pick something similar? The exercise calories tend to be really inaccurate anyway, even if you pick the right one. Far better to work out your average TDEE and set your goal to that.
  • Good idea, I've though about doing that but haven't got round to it yet. 300 isn't much to work with though, and are you bothered about macros? Soups would be a good candidate. Salads, small bowls of cereal/oats,wheetabix, daal, soy mince chilli, stir frys. Just tweek the ingredients until they come to 300 cal.
  • I just realised I've never thought of cottage cheese as anything other than savoury... having it with fruit sounds odd to me. I'll give it a go though.
  • Doing a circuit like that is called a superset, it lets you work out more intensely because you do more in a shorter time. Resting between sets lets you work that particular exercise harder because you can fully recover between each set.
  • Wrong. All wrong. Except fasted cardio not having extra benfits, that's true; it's exactly the same as non fasted cardio. EDIT: And food=energy. Rest of it is wrong.
  • I do, not because of any metabolism bs, but because I find it more convenient and I feel sluggish if I eat too soon before a workout.
  • You can message/add me if you want; I'd be happy to help you come up with something. Some poeple don't get sore so maybe you're lucky... but it's more likely that you could push a bit harder. Doing something new usually causes more soreness at first and after you get used to it it affects you less. PPL is push/pull/legs…
  • Starvation mode is a myth. I had too much of a deficit during my last cut. Problems I had were lack of sleep, not recovering properly from workouts, loss of strength, loss of energy, loss of sex drive, bad moods. It messes with your hormones. I would definitely raise it to around 1900-2000 - a 400-500 calorie deficit is…
  • Sounds like what you are doing is working, keep it up. The exercises tracker in mfp is very innacurate though, I personally don't use it; research how to calculate your average TDEE and set your goal to that minus 500 calories, then you can forget about logging exercises because they are already accounted for. Watch the…
  • First pic was sept 2014 (I'd been lifting for about year at this point, but only just started tracking my food around the time this pic was taken) Middle was last month, Last one was last week.
  • I love it. As the cheese in a cheeseburger with fried onions is my fave. Also have it with a salad, on top of a jacket potato, or straight from the tub.
  • Actually I love numbers. Doing a full body routine 4-5 times a week would be too much for most people. If you were pushing hard then you wouldn't have time to recover between workouts. So perhaps you might be better splitting it up. E.g. Doing chest once a week, like in PPL, gives those muscles more chance to recover…
  • The frame thing exercise is called leg raises. Arms on pads thing sounds like the pec deck. Inward thighs are called hip adductions and outer are hip abductions (it's a bit silly but I remember it as ad = you are 'adding' to your body i.e. moving the limb inwards). What are your goals? Are you doing the same routine every…
  • Jeez, so much butthurt in this thread. OP: "How do you define a good bikini body?" Replies: "I think X defines a good bikini body" Rest of thread: "RAWR! I DON"T HAVE X, that means you think I shouldn't wear one... RAWR RAWR RAWR!!" Guess what; there are some people out there who are more attractive than you, and other…
  • And by the way I'm very sorry to hear that. It must be awful for her and people should mind their own business.
  • It was an eye for an eye.
  • How dare you... he can wear what he wants... Whether he looks good in it is another matter.
  • Actually she asked what was necessary for a good bikini body. All that is necessary to wear a bikini is a bikini. Having a good bikini body on the other hand... takes a little bit more than that. Just like any item of clothing. EDIT: and by good I assume she means attractive, so I gave my view on what makes a woman in a…
  • So you should, and I totally agree... I was merely answering OPs question, which was nothing to do with whether people should wear a bikini or not.
  • When did I say that people I don't find attractive shouldn't wear bikinis?
  • Not at all... That's not what I said. What I mean is that from the sounds of it I don't think I would find your mother attractive. I would never make a comment about it or tell her what to do.
  • Blotchy, pimply skin is unattractive. Clear skin with an even tone is more attractive. IMO of course.
  • Definitely try seitan... it rocks. Although it might be considered a meat substitute...
