  • I have an office job and sometimes I can easily park my rear end on my chair at 7AM and realise at 11AM that I have not moved for four hours :D So I try to compensate outside of work, I walk everywhere, going to the gym 2-3 times a week, going to swim once a week when I can. I recently started to get off the bus a mile…
  • I also set mine to sedentary and use Fitbit to adjust. I average 7k steps a day before going to the gym but I have an office job so I felt it appropriate to set the activity level to sedentary, and in general just from a psychological point of view I find it a lot more satisfying to see my calorie allowance going up during…
  • I don't bother. If I feel I'm peckish just because I'm nervous/stressed I'll have a huge mug of green tea with one or two teaspoons of honey (21-42kcal). If I'm hungry I'll have a 150-200kcal snack (fruit or nuts etc) and won't mind the extra calories as it averages out the other days when I'm not hungry and I have a…
  • One of the very few things that can calm my anxiety is to have accurate and precise information. Being told I'm slowly gaining without being told exactly how much would kill me. I don't see the benefit in weighing myself without being told anything either, I'd rather not weigh myself then.
  • I meal prep Monday to Friday so on Sunday I log everything for those 5 days, but I might swap dinners around a bit or add or subtract a snack as I go. I just think it's easier as I already know what I am going to eat anyway as I already cooked it, so might as well log it. As for the weekends I try and pre log in the…
  • You will 100% be ok! You lost 30 pounds which is a massive feat, you've shown you can do it, you had and still have the willpower to do it. Time will fly, can you keep yourself distracted maybe with work, light chores, or having friends around etc? Before you know it you will be healthy and up and exercising again. You've…
  • I forgot to add one of the cons is you need to be more careful about your water intake, as you can easily get dehydrated doing IF. We take some of our water from food as well, so by restricting the window in which we can eat we need to make sure we are drinking more water to make up for it. I did feel a bit dehydrated the…
  • IF is about improving your body's production of insulin and energy usage, not about losing weight. It *can* help you losing weight if you pair it up with a diet, and some people find they naturally eat less as they effectively skip a meal, but it's not its primary focus. I do 16/8, Mon-Fri I have a yogurt and a banana at…
  • If you are working out every day then you are spending more calories so it makes sense that you're hungrier! 100-200 kcal over your budget is not an issue as you are spending those calories for your workout, so overall you should still be within your budget. Do you log your workouts on MFP as well?
