Hi Kiwi - I have both. I was diagnosed 3 yrs ago. I have to admit I have not been good at taking care of myself lately, (working too many hours, not enough sleep, too many grains etc) and thus am going through a pretty bad flare up right now which is how I managed to see your post i.e. lying in bed on my tablet. I have…

Because I also have Fibromyalgia plus arthritis my rheumatologist had my add 2 turmeric capsules a day along with the Fish oils and D and I found some Rose Hip powder at a health food store that I started adding to yogurt etc. Along with taping the knee and religiously doing my PT exercises those also really helped.

I am sorry to hear about your knee. I can really sympathize because after a really bad fall I too have bad knee where the knee cap cannot stay in place and I have bits of broken off cartilage that I swear feels like giant rocks under there rubbing against the joint and knee cap at times. I have used Duromine at various…

I am six weeks out and have had no problems with chicken. Granted I have only cooked it in the slow cooker then shredded or chopped fine or pureed it. What has been really hard for me has been fresh fruit, uncooked vegetables, grains, bread etc.

I am too. I have been to the info session and had my pre-surgical meeting with the dietitian and surgeon. I have a surgery date of Dec 7 so I started the 6 week pre-surgery diet today. I am very nervous about doing this but it has been a 30+ year struggle of dieting, mostly failing and I need a little help in this battle.

I am trying very hard to but it would be really nice when you are shelling out $250-550 to sit in someone's office that is supposed to be an expert in their field that they look you in the eye and treat you with some respect. I can handle them saying to me "losing weight might help you feel better BUT I know your issues…

Hi Rattleh3ad - yes the long term goal is to be around 150-170. I just know I need to do something now, today. And need to see immediate results that will make me feel a bit better now not 2 yrs from now if that makes any sense at all. Your suggestions are awesome - thank you.

Thank you all for this really great advice. No I have not seen a dietitian lately but it might be worth looking into. I have been writing down what I eat in a notebook as per rheumatologist request and it was how I figured out rice, corn, quinoa where making symptoms worse and to cut them out, but my portion sizes might be…
