I use Libra (same idea as Happy Scale). I log my weight every day, and even though I thought I was maintaining (bouncing between 177-179), I was actually going down, but only at an overall rate of 0.2 lbs per week.

I know you're not asking me, but I find laying down uncomfortable now because my old favourite positions don't work anymore - less fat to prop me up!

This resonates with me. All my attempts in the past I'd say to my husband "I'm going to start xyz". I've stopped telling him what I'm doing now because his (lack of) reaction hurts, and I don't want to feel that way. It was kind of cool to sit him down the other day and show him pictures of me 'now' versus 'then' (20 lbs…

This is one that I'm noticing as of this week. Also, I'm starting to get knee cap definition!

Oh, I wanted to mention also: if you haven't been checked for sleep apnea then you probably should. At your weight there is a good chance you have sleep apnea, and it can cause depression and make it harder to lose weight because it can put your body into a state of hypoxia. And for anyone who likes additional reading,…

16 pounds is fantastic, remind yourself often of this success, because it's a huge achievement! Some lessons I've learned along the way: 1 - Portion size is my biggest problem. I used to eat as much as my husband does, but his total daily energy expenditure and my total daily energy expenditure are completely different, so…

@ninerbuff do you have any articles you can link about fat bagging? Lol when I do a search for it I don't get the kind of articles I'm looking for. I'm 31 years old, and lost the 16 lbs relatively quickly IMO (over 2.5 months). I have 12 lbs to go until I'm in a healthy BMI, and anything beyond that is gravy. It seems so…

Thanks for all the replies!! Haha thanks for the correct terminology prize :) It drives me nuts when people mix up spelling so I'm extra careful about it. Although I have noticed that since I left the workforce I'm distracted or mommy brain or something and I'll write their when I meant to write there. Then I make my own…

It gets easier! My boys are 3 and 4 and I've noticed this year is much better because they run faster, and walk faster, and are learning how to bike. I'm excited to be able to jog alongside them :)

^ Yes! I dance around with my kids, play 'chase' with them, walk on the spot and do jumping jacks whenever I have a few minutes. I lift a couple of weights in the evening when they go to bed, and do a few bicycle crunches, push-ups, and side leg raises. Nothing too strenuous, but it adds up. Oh and because it's only a few…

For me to lose my first 10 lbs I had to cut out bread and pasta. Toast in the morning makes me very snacky for the rest of the day, and pasta makes me snacky in the evening. For breakfast I have an apple, yogurt, and 2 eggs, and that keeps me full. Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner, and dinner is protein + veggie +…

I had a patient tell me that since she cut out nightshades and artificial sweeteners from her diet, her fibro symptoms pretty much disappeared. Anecdotal I know, but maybe something to try?

Have you talked to your doctor to see if taking a B12 supplement or folate will help with your anaemia?

Can I pick your brain about this? I only have two weights at home. Mine is 4.6 kg + the bar, and my hubby's is 9.6 kg + the bar, and I have two kids that I might be able to use as weights (32 lbs and 42 lbs). I'm a SAHM with no budget to buy more weights, but I can modify them because they are adjustable. I'm 179 lbs,…

Actually coconut oil is the best lube there is. You're probably just experiencing bloat after eating/drinking, and only noticing it because you're naked. It's not as obvious after eating/drinking when you are wearing clothes...

Insanity uses these calculations: "• Sedentary lifestyle (desk job): Current weight in pounds x 12 = Maintenance Caloric Needs. • Moderately active lifestyle (server in a restaurant and/or doing one of our entry level programs, like Power 90 or Hip Hop Abs: Current weight in pounds x 13 = Maintenance Caloric Needs. •…

I found this to be helpful, but I'm only 2 days in with mfp and my fitbit synced: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Chickaboo2014/view/fitbit-adjustments-negative-vs-positive-641367 Today is my test day of allowing it to adjust for negative calories. The other day I ended up overeating by almost 500 calories because the…

Eat lots of vegetables for your meals, and move more for some extra exercise calories. Today I had candy, chocolate, and chips, and it was all within my calories for the day :)

What would you do when you get to 220 lbs? Is there something you really want in life that you can't do while you're "the big guy"? I've found that it helps to have a little bit of extra motivation. For me it's a 5 day backpacking trip. It's something I'd absolutely love to do, but I'm not in good enough shape yet. I'm…

Way to go!! And so awesome that you are doing this for her!! I wanted to ask my mom to do the same thing for me on my birthday, but hubby talked me out of it. I think it's fantastic.

I was wondering if this would go away! It's so annoying lol and I feel like it's going to give me bad stretch marks from all the bouncing. When did you notice that this got better, if you don't mind me asking?

What's your BMI? Is it possible that you are 'binging' because your body truly needs the calories?
-
I'm 180 lbs too, 5'8". For me to lose weight I have to eat 1200 calories a day, and only eat back max 150 exercise calories. The only way I can do that and not feel hungry is if I fill up on veggies and keep my bread and pasta to a minimum. The way I see it is that at my goal weight my maintenance calories will be 1500, so…
-
Neat, but to look how I want then I'd need to be 115 lbs (I'm 5'8"). That'll never happen lol
-
When I'm hungry I make soup, green smoothies, salads, or vegetable curries. Basically I try to fill up on lots and lots of vegetables + lots of water :)
-
Right now I'm snacking on kimchi :) I also like to make smoothies or have yogurt
-
What kind of foods do you binge on? Could you replace them with healthy vegetable alternatives? When I'm hungry at night I drink a lot of water (like 1L), then go to bed. I may lay awake for a while, but I don't get back out of bed (unless I have to pee lol). Have you tried meditation? Also, who does the shopping in your…

I also think you should just get rid of it.

I've been going through the same thing these last couple weeks, I lost 19 lbs, but re-gained 4 lbs. Last night I took some time to just quietly think about why I want to lose weight, and to re-focus myself. I thought about all the food that I've eaten (and how much I enjoyed it if I'm honest lol!), and made a promise to…

Starting weight 195 lbs Current weight 180 lbs Goal weight 155 lbs It seems so far away. I'd love to get to 135 lbs, but I don't know if I could do it.
