Today is 30 days with no hangover!! That means the world to me. My body has always rejected alcohol and had a hard time metabolizing it. So, if nothing else, my body is so happy! I have an old one month coin from AA. I'm going to put it on my nightstand as a reminder of one month sober. Have a great day!

Thanks!!! Hooray for 30 days AF! Thanks for remembering! Congrats on another productive day!! 3 days AF!

@SunnyDays930 The vacation was fun! Now, you can get back to a normal routine. <3

I wish I could have just one drink .... around this time of the day, right after work and before dinner, the wine witch calls my name very loudly. Sigh. I know it serves no purpose, but the habit is so ingrained in my brain. I'll make a fake G&T and pretend. I still struggle sometimes. I hope I can feel like Xbow one day,…

Happy 36th!! I love your mindset. Once we realize alcohol brings zero value to our lives, it's easier to abstain. All the benefits of sober living keep multiplying!

Day 29 AF! I am definitely buying myself something tomorrow on day 30. Some earrings or something (not expensive) but meaningful.

Day 29 AF I have been so productive... cleaning, organizing, reading a lot. It's like I found several extra hours in the day! It's a gift. Went to a party yesterday. Everyone drank normally but lots of beverages there: great varieties. I skipped them and had Perrier in a wine glass. I brought my own Perrier. That's my new…

@renae149 That's great! I love orange slice in water too! Yes, it is funny how productive you can be on a sober day! Congrats on day 2!

I had a productive weekend. After watching that cleaning video, I ordered the duster he advertised. The one that attracts dust due to static; it was fun dusting with it. I work top down- dust corners in the ceilings, dust the lights, blinds, furniture and then vacuum. I also switched out my summer/spring clothes from my…

Good morning! Nothing new to report. It's been a calm weekend with gorgeous weather and the leaves are changing colors slower this year. 28 days AF... feeling better each day It will be a whole month soon that I did not have a headache, nausea, etc. at work. What a delight!

@Walela617 Those are great milestones! Don't they always say when you write down your goals you are apt to make them reality! My first goal will be reached this week: 30 days will be on my daughter's birthday I also want to be AF until my blood work on Nov. 8th. That would be on day 46.

I had hynotherapy about a month ago. It was specifically about drinking. I don't know if it worked or not, BUT I have been sober since then. The lady was amazing. She had me imagine alcohol as my most hated beverage.. I said I hate tomato juice. So, she described pouring thick, chunky tomato juice into a wine glass and…

That happens! I've been trying to quit for 10 years!!! I have fallen off so many times, I can't even count. So, dust yourself off, and write a little journal entry for yourself about this experience so you can read it in the future. Today's a new day!

@chicbuc Awhile ago, you asked me which football team I root for. I can't really answer that... I don't want to leave "identifiable" information on this thread. Just wanted to explain why I didn't answer. (I think that was you who asked??) <3

Hi @globalhiker Congrats on your amazing streak: 47 days!! So happy you found us, too!

I felt depressed too... for a few weeks. I started to take fish oil vitamins because I heard it helps with mild depression. Either that is kicking in or I'm just feeling better overall. Now, I feel pretty calm even when I'm having a hectic day at work.

Tonight, we went to a favorite local restaurant where we always shared a bottle of wine. So, my husband ordered the bottle because I told him he could, but he would have to have it alone. I know he misses me drinking with him. But I told him "I have goals. I am getting healthy." I had club soda. Sure, I missed that first…

@surfergirl1982 You can do it! I know you can. For the first two weeks, I felt incredibly unsettled, angry, emotional, weepy and then suddenly I felt better. My brain was like a scrambled egg. You did it before, you can do it again. Just muscle through those first few difficult days. And once you have some momentum, you…

@Alatariel75 Weekends can be hard. This weekend, you'll have so much time on your hands, plan some fun activities that are not where people are drinking.. Keep busy, exercise, eat some delicious treats, go to a coffee shop, just fill that time with fun things!
-
@xbowhunter Happy 33 AF days today! I notice I am much calmer these days, too. Even when I have a stressor, I can handle it better.
-
Keep fighting the good fight!! Have a healthy weekend!

Day 26 AF One thing that I did all of September that really helped me. In my notes, I recorded how many drinks I had, my resting heart rate and my sleep score. I won't post it all here but I wanted to post a sample of my "journal". And when I had wine, I had a venti pour, if you know what I mean. Sept. 4- 4 drinks 1 vodka…

@renae149 What a story! I am happy he didn't have that case of beer on his first sober anniversary. I'm also happy you and your hubby are on the sober journey too - together. My daughter said a few months ago, "wouldn't you be concerned if I drank as much as you drink every evening?". I sheepishly said yes I would be. I…

@MissMay What a relief to be officially retired. You've worked so hard; you deserve to spend each day doing exactly what you want to do. Congrats @chicbuc - you rock! Congrts @globalhiker Congrats on your AF vacation. A few years ago, I spent a week alone at a beach vacation. It was during my sober 9 month period. I would…

Good morning, friends! Day 25 AF and yesterday, I went to a bar with my husband; we work out first and then we meet to get something to eat. The food is delicious. When I got there, he had a club soda on the table for me already. That was thoughtful. I didn't have FOMO. I fear going back to my old habits which would make…

Great results from all that hard work!!

Regarding money savings, after 24 days AF, my nomo app says I’ve save $677 and saved 47 hours of time not drinkng. In a book I’m reading, the author says a heavy drinker spends about $100,000 Over his or her lifetime on alcohol. Not sure if that’s accurate but possibly.

Good morning ! 24 AF days Last night at a family event, I found it easier to order Perrier- I practiced it in my head on the way over. “I’d like a Perrier in a wine glass” I also felt less FOMO and although I wanted to have a cocktail, I am finding this new normal more acceptable to me. I’m not craving as much. I guess…

@renae149 Good to see you! I'm happy one wine didn't derail your goals. Yes, all the physical effects from alcohol are something I want to never feel again.
