I am so disappointed and angry. If you recall, I have been eagerly awaiting my blood results for liver and kidney. I got my high cholesterol results, but when I talked to the doctor's office, they said "oh sorry" we forgot to order those liver tests. I said I've been AF for over 47 days just to get my liver and kidney…

Did not drink yesterday. 1 AF Highest record: 9 months Recent record: 47 days

I am back on track. I did drink more wine (2 glasses) when out to lunch on Sunday. Weirdly, it did not trigger me to drink when I got home. I slept well this weekend, over 9 hours. And I read a book before bed, which is much more calming than looking at the news. Although I enjoyed my AF break this weekend, I prefer not to…

I drank last night. I knew I would. Relapse happens in the mind several days in advance. It was heavenly to have that wine. We split a bottle at a restaurant. I slept well, too. So far regarding the blood test results: My cholesterol numbers were sky high. Like really high. That was one trigger. It was easy to say, well…

Day 47 AF Had my blood tests today- no results yet. I am curious to see how being AF benefited me.

11/1 171.1 11/4 170.1 11/7 170.6 This week: Went to Pilates again. I sure love that class! Besides the core, leg and arm workout, it is great for stretching, too. Now, my goal is to do both Pilates and Yoga in the same week.

Day 44 AF I cooked two meals last night. One meal for lunches and the other meal dinner. I had a kombucha tea in a wine glass. It was pleasant. I used to cook just so I could drink wine! Have a great day! The sun set at 5:15 p.m. last night. It was dark!

HW 206 lbs. in 2023 11/1/24 171.1 11/4 170.1 I met two of my goals for the weekend: Meditated every day Worked out at Planet Fitness (I am so sore!) I didn't go for a walk in the park. I know that is a mood lifter, but I just didn't go. I am trying to incorporate more veggies and fruit into my daily meals. I eat a hard…

@globalhiker You're right! Alcohol has zero benefits to my life. I did bring up some craft items from my basement. I will get back to what I used to enjoy as a kid. Painting, crafting, scrapbooking, journaling......

43AF but time is dragging. I have blood tests this Friday, and I think my husband thinks I'll go back to drinking. But I really don't want to break this streak. It's my longest in four years. I feel so good in the mornings! I don't want to go back, drink, and then try to quit again. It's triple times harder to get traction…

Congrats on two months + 2 days! @globalhiker I like your comments. I read Reddit, too. I am always saddened when I read a post that says I was sober for ten or fifteen years and went back to drinking and now am trying to be sober again. I feel so sorry for that person; it is truly a struggle to get back to sobriety in…

I'd like to get to two months AF and then just count months. I have been tempted a few times at various events this past week. But I know alcohol adds no value to a perfectly nice time. I still had a very enjoyable time at a party last night. Husband misses that I am not drinking with him. I was his drinking buddy. That's…

I was on some website and it read just how aging drinking can be. In the last 41 days AF, I've noticed dramatic improvement in my nails. They were always splitting. Now, they're strong and those "half moons" are really noticeable. I have a friend who invests in face lifts, botox, and lots of other expensive skin…

HW 8/21/23 206 lbs. 11/1 171.1 lbs. I weigh a few times a week. I don't really have a set date. Goals for this weekend: One workout at the gym ( I keep paying monthly and have not gone in months.) Meditate each day Read 30 pages in my book Walk at the park and feel the crunchy leaves under my shoes

@xbowhunter @sunndays930 Both of you are going to a wedding this weekend sober. Sunday morning will be sweet!

I like the dopamine kick I feel when I check my AF count on my app. I like "checking in" on the app and reading or writing in my journal. I will keep counting. As the days add up, it makes me happy when I see if I "earned" any medals on the app. But sometimes I feel counting days can be daunting and even stressful. But for…

@Walela617 I've done that before, too. You had good intentions, stopped to say hi, and wanted to feel a bit festive on the holiday. Dust yourself off and have a great AF weekend. <3
-
@MissMay Thanks for keeping this going. You did very well in October despite all the challenging time with the hubby and your friend. How do these people not get wicked hangovers after day drinking, night drinking and then getting back into the alcohol the next morning? When I go away for the weekend with friends, because…

@Walela617 How was Halloween? Did you get a lot of trick or treaters? @xbowhunter I know you said you stopped counting the days. That is a relief, right? Wishing you a productive weekend!
-
@renae149 Happy Friday! Yes, we are stacking. When you're AF, your eating habits improve. You are able to exercise more without a hangover. So many positives. @globalhiker Laugh more, stress less!! That's what I want too. @SunnyDays930 Have a great weekend!

Day 40 AF Next goal: AF until my blood work will be on Nov. 8th. On Halloween, I typically drank a bunch to celebrate the occasion. I don't know what I was celebrating!? This year, I drank a 00 Heineken and watched Charlie Brown. We had more children this year come to our door. It was a pleasant evening.

31 AF days in October Current streak 39 days AF I check this thread all the time and read every word. Thanks for your honesty and thoughtful posts. It helps me so much. Happy Halloween!

My sister has been 5 years sober. I could have been 5 years, too. We started quitting (oxymoron) around the same time years ago. She has guilt and shame about her drinking, and she made a commitment to herself that at a thousand days AF she would forgive herself and it will wipe away all the negative things she's done to…

Good morning, friends! I'm on day 39, and I'm looking forward to day 40. I think counting days is very stressful and yet I still keep track. I've saved over $1,000 dollars (app says) over these last few weeks. I believe it. One bottle of wine per day plus a few times out for happy hours. My local wine store's stocks must…
