I have two cups of homemade soup and add 1-2 cups of water. That fills me up and I control the calories in the soup.

I keep an eye on calories and carbohydrates. This is a tip from the diabetic crowd. Yesterday, for the first time in recent memory, I left food on my plate. I was full. What a pleasant surprise. When still eating to stuff myself I never left a crumb. Maybe you are in a shifting phase, wandering your way to a new normal.
