I am 19 years old and over weight. I want to lose weight and change to a healthier lifestyle. But I honestly am not sure how to start. I am trying to eat less and eat healthier food. But I am not sure of what dishes/recipes to eat. I am a college student with a not much money. I don't know What type of exercise to do. I just do not know where to start? Help please.

Can you cook for yourself where you are or are you in a dorm? My daughter has found eating a challenge in her freshman year of college this year. There are lots of good blogs for recipes--One of my favorites is http://ohsheglows.com/, and another is http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/. I'm vegetarian/vegan, but if you want meat in recipes, I'm sure there are lots of good fat free or lowfat recipe blogs out there.0

Hi Calliewallie, for me it was helpful to start cooking low-fat and to use less sugar. I lost weight without eating less.0

I want to head you toward some recent research on high intensity-low duration exercise and health, muscle mass gain and diabetes. It is very encouraging. Good luck.
