If it works for you fine as some people find it stops craving at certain points. But it's not some miracle fat/weightloss thing.

Percentage is a bad way to address your macros because 10% of 1200cal is far different to 10% of 2000 calories. You really need to set them via grams. Though personally I think people get a bit too carried away with Macros. Aim for a balanced diet and your body which is a very clever biological organism will take what it…

As long as it's not over hot 90 mins or so without water is pretty straightforward and doesn't effect performance. I frequently run those sort of times without water. Sometimes people get a bit carried away with Hydration everyone is different though

It's not luck it takes work. HAve a look at the links Teabea gave you

So you don't actually need to lose weight you need to lose body fat which is a different thing. So you need to look at appropriate resistance exercise and eat enough to sustain that. Pop over to the fitness forum and ask for advice on lifting to reach your goals

The bold is the important bit. It's not everyday. Don't over think just go for moderate portions and if you go over your calories it's one day. You'll be in situations like this for the rest of your life so just use some common sense and enjoy it. One day does not destroy months of work, That just sounds miserable she may…

@Orphia that article is pretty vague with comments such as . Interesting research but really not much conclusive evidence. As for superfoods I personally hate that term because any food that provides me with what I need is super. Personally bananas are a superfood to me I frequently add chia and hemp seeds to my smoothies…

What a strange comment I'm an a 5'5" 175lb vegan that is interested in beginning counting my macros to lose 30lbsLosing weight is still about calories counting your macros does not necessarily put you in a calorie deficit Try not to overthink it. Most people seem to aim for far more protein than you really need. The aim…

Just because a food wont fit into your personal goals does not make it unhealthy that is probably one of the silliest definitions of an unhealthy food i've ever heard on MFP

MFP has this great blog feature

Why are you restricting calories if you're at a healthy weight? Losing weight will make no difference especially not with 10 days before you . If you don't like your look you need to do appropriate exercise and eat appropriately and this wont happen in 10 day. Eat normally take your Healthy weight body on a holiday and…

Your body doesn't build muscle just because you eat protein exercise and other nutrients also factor in. The window you quote is just a window where your body is most receptive to taking in protein in or to repair and rebuild post exercise

@PeachyCarol You've probably just written the single most sensible post of the whole thread. I do love your attitude

There are so many variables from your running gait, your weight to the brand of shoes 500 miles is a rough guide. I've had some shoes that I've put 800 miles on comfortably then brands like asics I can only get 300 miles out of (that's why I don't wear asics anymore). Personally I would recommend people have more than one…

Isn't Lard White? So you're not supposed to eat it? ;-) Just when you think threads like this can't get any sillier ........

Well Ok then

Not totally some salts contain more micronutrients than other salts though we are unlikely consume enough to make any nutritional difference

@italysharon That's fantastic work this month

Metabolic typing is pseudo science and meaningless as with anything Dr Oz likes. Just eat a varied diet of mainly wholefoods within your calorie goals. As a long term vegan it's not hard to get sufficient protein without any difficulty. Don't make it more difficult than it needs be by using dodgy fad diet ideas

Why do these boards always have to always do extremes? Why can't I follow CICO while mainly eating clean (even though that's a stupid classification)

I'm afraid despite what the high fat proponents think. the mainstream medical community still agree there is a link between dietary cholesterol and heart disease. To me this pro eat silly amounts of fat idea is just another case of wishful thinking. People like to hear good news about their bad habits…

It always seems to me that those being 'Brutally Honest' have more issues than the supposed people they are aiming their 'Honesty' at. He has some points but shouting at people never works. As the saying goes “Lighthouses don’t go running all over an island looking for boats to save; they just stand there shining.”
