I gave it up a couple months ago. Once 2 medical professionals confirmed that 1 glass of alcohol stalls weight loss for 3 days...that's all I needed to hear. My weight loss is more important to me than a glass of wine (or two...or three...lol)

I'd have to agree with this. I did the same and my flares have been decreased and they don't seem to last as long.

yeah! Finally, I'm not the only one who has moderation issues. You have no idea how much I appreciate reading that. Our stats are pretty darn close too....I started at 264...lost 30 lbs in 90 days.(started Feb 26)...initial goal is 165 then maybe onto 135...maybe :) I also cut out some things that I would have a hard time…

Awesome! Careful, they are addicting! :) (trippy to read, because my Mom passed on the same day March 28..11 yrs ago...small world)

I picked it because I thought it was a weight I could live with and achieve. My 'healthy range' is lower, but I just look at that as a secondary goal when I get to the first one :)

I ditched it cold turkey. I try to drink water. I have 1 cup of coffee in the am and usually a cup of tea in the evening. Other than that, water, water, water. (sometimes I do make iced tea, but I haven't for a while)

Sonoma county here! They have some wine runs in Napa :)

I'm hovering at 19 lbs, but it took 8-9 weeks

^ Thanks for the article. Not sure if it helped the OP, but it helped me :) It's absolutely true what they say about it being 80% mental (or however the saying goes). Just keep your head in the game and push forward.

After having engrained in my brain in high school thanks to my Father, I suck in my gut all the time....on the couch, walking, everywhere...all the time. Let's not forget about Mom....she used to call me 'Thunder Thighs'... (Don't get me wrong, I love my parents)

Hi. I can only speak for the RA, I've had that for about 15yrs now. I can sympathize with you totally and I'm sorry you have to deal with it. I know for me, the meds the Dr. prescribed helped a lot. I've been on Enbrel and it has worked great. I've also changed my diet a lot and I think that I have benefited from that as…

Oh gosh..I look forward to shopping for normal clothes, less back pain, getting my confidence back....being able to cross my damn legs properly :) AND competing in my 2nd tough mudder in much better shape.

I made (homemade) baked Tequila lime chicken and steamed string beans :)

I don't tend to eat back the exercise but I'm only walking at this point. I still get around 1200 calories eaten so I really don't feel hungry most of the time. They days that I walk and eat a normal days worth, because of the exercise, I'm usually around 900 cals deficit. Did that make sense? I figure that I'm more likely…

I usually just log it with a meal....ie ice tea for lunch, herbal tea for dinner or snack. Just personal preference really.

I weigh in on Thursday am. It just happened to be the day I started to get serious about it :)

Same here. Finally have my brain in the right place. Started 3/1 and have 100 ish to lose. You can add me if you'd like. Good luck! We CAN do this!

Congrats on the quitting smoking!! That's huge in itself (said by another ex-smoker). I try to set my goals by each month, although I'm a bit neurotic so I'm more each week...:) I don't focus on the big number at the end, because that can be a bit daunting. I like the idea of 10lbs at a time. I even try to do some of the…

Way to go! :)

I use So Delicious vanilla coconut creamer. Although I really need to change to something with a little less sugar (4g per Tbsp)

Hi. Mine is very basic though technically it's not a 'smoothie'. I use Plant Fusion protein powder (vanilla), unsweetened Almond Milk, and 1 cup of frozen mixed tropical fruit (trader Joe's). All together it's 255 cals, 24g protein, 30 carb, 20g sugar (due to the fruit). But I'm sure it would still be good if you leave the…

Khill555: OMG! Patience! I can totally relate...I do the same thing and have to constantly remind myself to not stress over it. angieslay: arthritis SUCKS :) I've had RA for about 15 yrs now and I'm hoping I will feel a difference when the weight comes off. I think we might have similar stats. I'm also about 15 lbs down…

You can always use the recipe function and it will calculate what the nutritional value is :)

I started on 2/28. Very modified diet, but I'm good with it :)
