IMO, make an appointment with a chiropractor or sports medicine specialist.

Drag yourself to the gym (or dance studio) and do some simple warm-up moves. I find this "gets me going." Choose an exercise you feel passionate about - maybe it's dance class instead of lifting. Maybe it's stroll on a nature path. Or perhaps find another job that doesn't rob you of your vitality.

You don't need a Fitbit. You just need to have a Fitbit account. Once you have an account you click on Log > Weight > scroll down to the bottom of the page and enter your weight. Then you create an account on Trendweight.com. Then Trendweight will synch with your Fitbit account.

I think a month is good enough to spot trends. I find Trendweight.com (linked to my Fitbit daily weight log) helpful to visualize +/- and averages. Trendweight also summarizes your caloric intake and output.

Some days I have a problem eating my daily suggested calories for weight loss so I consider a bigger window of weekly suggested calories. This allows for some days when social eating (drinking) happens and one tends to go over maximum calories. Some reasons why I don't make minimum daily goal is 1) I am taking Wellbutrin…

Time to bump with my chart showing weight loss is not linear. Thanks to jemhh (OP) for the post. And thanks to rabbitjb for leading my Trendweight.com (which lead me to "The Hacker's Diet."

One day I told myself I didn't want to be another middle-aged man who had let himself go.

A side effect of various prescription drugs is the dreaded constipation. Are you taking any? ETA - D'oh! I just noticed you don't take any medicines from doctors.

If I was on Death Row, my last meal request would be an assorted cheese platter, artisan bread and fruit.

I have the same personality. My DW calls me a phaser. When some activity excites my pleasure center there is no stopping me. I need more. The only thing that stops me is the next pleasure. I agree with SideSteel's post in that tracking metrics helps. That in itself is addictive. You might enjoy reading the Hacker's Diet.…

They want your money more than you want to work out. Tell them you will go elsewhere if you don't get a reduced rate. I was a member of Nautilus Plus in 1993 for $9.99/month. That rate has been locked in through the sale to Bally's and then to LAFitness. I go through more than $10 worth of hot water at LAF in a month.

Go to the weight room and pick up a 30# dumbbell. That's how much you were lugging around before it disappeared. Congratulations.

I remember those days. You should be able to eat any food but it's probably painful to chew now because your teeth are moving and the nerves are getting used to the new position. Take some pain reliever (if you want). This feeling is temporary and occurs only after each new adjustment. I wish you well.

I follow the New Rules of Lifting advice. Easy stretches before lifting. Comfortable stretch and foam rolling post workout. At night I stretch with a fitness ball.

Not only has BuPropion SR (Wellbutrin) helped with my depression, it has also suppressed my appetite (for now).
