Can I still build a little muscle and get more toned by being right on my TDEE? Because if I have to gain fat to gain muscle, I don't want to do it. Not worth it to me.

Will I have a less flat stomach as a result? I'm worried about the number on the scale going up again but I need to remember it would probably be mostly muscle.

Not sure if my pictures do my hips 'justice' though. Does that mean my stomach will get larger since I would eat at a surplus?

I appreciate the sympathy and I'm certainly not denying that what I'm saying doesn't sound right. I'm not throwing a pity party every time I look in the mirror, and I like what I see now more than what I saw 6 months ago, but I have a long road to contentment. <3

Thanks guys! Will upping my calorie intake, though for muscle building, also make me gain fat? I don't want my stomach to grow in the slightest.

I realize I'm probably asking dumb questions but if I add calories to create a surplus, will any of that turn into fat?

Forgive my inadequacy, but what do those abbreviations in the last sentence mean? Though I've been dieting for a while, I'm still pretty new to this :)
