  • That makes really good sense. Just a slight change of focus. Thanks. :)
  • That's awesome info - thanks! Didn't even know there was such a thing as these scans for the public. Thank you again. That could certainly be very helpful!
  • I certainly agree with your stance on restaurants! Not only do I not have the money to spend, but the idea of spending money on something that is not as good for me as something I can make irks me. It's a nice treat but the guilt gets to me. I understand what you're saying about 'bad foods' though and why we shouldn't call…
  • I drink nothing aside from water and the odd Diet Coke, so I don't think so. I also record anything I do drink. I haven't had a sugared beverage in 20 years or so and I don't drink coffee or alcohol. That's probably an easy thing to forget to record though, especially if you're out!
  • Nope, it's currently set to 1lb. Macros are set at (respectively as you've typed them) 35, 35, 30. Thanks for the tip! I will try changing them up.
  • No one asked my starting weight. And I said I couldn't tell them the rate of loss because MFP would not let me go that far back (at least on my phone). Misinformation.
  • 5'3". If you don't believe me, test it out. :) Any weight loss calculator will give you those calories if you put in a higher number. It was one of the first things I asked people when I started my journey. Who on earth can lose weight eating 3000 calories a day? I'm obviously not a bodybuilder and burning that many…
  • "All of this information you refuse to provide..." Oy. ALL of this information? One thing? When I said I was not willing to open my diary, anyone who thought they needed it to offer me any advice should have moved on instead of ridiculing me. That's really the bottom line. Go help someone else who has opened their diary…
  • Regardless of what information I did or did not give aside, the fact that this turned into a "trainwreck" is sad and does not speak very highly of these forums or the people in them. I should have been able to ask a question without being disrespected and without people getting short with me. (Clearly other people agreed…
  • I only eat white meat/chicken breast and I do not eat chicken skin. I usually get their chicken salads (skinless breast). It's nothing alarming. Anything I get out at a restaurant is nothing I'd be concerned about calorie-wise, especially considering I eat lighter during the day. I never should have mentioned it obviously.…
  • Agree very much with this! (I don't think I will be coming back here for any plateau advice, to be honest!)
  • I mentioned it but it's fine. This thread is huge. To reiterate: I'm not on any medication and I've had blood work/hormones checked (I went because of this problem to make sure everything was okay and it was, everything came back fine). I never changed a thing in terms of even -what- I am eating either. Introducing new…
  • As I stated, I don't WANT to use calculators. They're inaccurate. I know I should not be eating the calories they recommend. It's obscene. Other people had suggested using one and each time I have told them the same thing, that they're inaccurate (for me). Thanks for your advice on the calculation. I will give it a try.
  • Thank you! :)
  • I will be taking/continuing to take all of this advice - thank you. :)
  • It's truly the worst when medication is the issue because you can't stop it! I'm sorry for your struggles as well and I hope you keep doing what you're doing. You have a very healthy way of thinking. I'm glad you are also thinking about your mental health, which is easy to forget when we are so focused on diet/fitness…
  • That's why I am back at the calories I am currently intaking. It was what I originally started at and what I was consuming while I lost most of the 70lbs. But now, going back to the same "plan," I am not losing anything. But that is also what my nutritionist said - if it ain't broke don't fix it - but unfortunately it just…
  • Thanks! I drink a lot of water but I could stand to drink even more. I'll work on that. :)
  • It was a long time ago; I can't remember (it did involve my weight, height and I believe my level of activity [desk job] if I am not mistaken). But it was a lot of math! She briefly showed it to me. And she did explain it, I just can't remember because it was complicated. But that is what my program started with and she…
  • I like this suggestion. Thank you. :) Fairly easy to incorporate. I usually don't walk beyond 10k due to my work schedule so this will be a good way to try and boost my step count. I suck horribly at sports but I still like your activity suggestion! ;)
  • Had to leave the forums yesterday for a period; was not ignoring you, sorry. Not comfortable posting my weight here. The calorie intake numbers were derived from a registered dietician based on her calculations. I've stated elsewhere in this thread, when using a regular weight loss calculator, the calories for my height…
  • I said in the original post I do use the cooked meat entries. I said I wasn't sure about the others and I'd have to go back and look more closely. We were specifically talking about meat, and I know I am using the one that says cooked. So no, no need for correction there. That's not complicated. Perhaps if people were a…
  • There may be issues you are not aware of, there may even be issues I am not aware of. So no, don't just assume. And if you are going to assume anything, assume perhaps my deficit should be higher. That isn't something I calculated myself and could be off for my body like others have said. Instead of being kind, you kept…
  • Thank you. That was very nice of you.
  • So if a person is telling you they ARE eating at a deficit, the deficit that is set for them based on their other settings, perhaps the smart thing would be to assume their deficit is not high enough and not just assume they are necessarily doing something wrong. Um, nothing had a rebuttal. I laid out the things I have…
  • Well apparently I am already at maintenance. Haha. But thanks. A couple of others also suggested a "break" to reboot my body. It might be helpful.
  • I work out at home but I do a mix of both cardio and weights. :)
  • It has already seemed like on this journey that a lot of this comes down to trial and error, which I hate, but that's why I am here... getting more ideas to try. Could be anything. Someone just said try taking an hour long walk every day. Who knows. That sounds like it could work for someone. Maybe that someone is me.…
  • Wasn't aware of that. Thank you for your input. I will keep what you said in mind.
  • Thank you. :)
