Make sure you take an inhaler with you and maybe start with a Loop close to your house that lets you feel like help and a break is close at hand.   • I measure it...cups, tbsp, what have you. I even have pulled the ruler out to check the size of the sweet potato or Apple. We have two children with celiac disease, so we don't eat grains at all. I also don't eat refined sugars. My biggest vice is almond butter so I am very careful to make sure I measure out tbsp of it.
