Please, please eat more than 900 calories/day. I went as low as 1200 and was a crazy hangry woman. You probably don't want your hair to fall out or be tired all the time. Bump up the calories and take an extra walk. Just so you know. The time will pass one way or another, whether you lose a pound a week or not. Better to…

So called cheat days are counter productive. If you want to eat more, do it. Not cheating, but add a bit more exercise into that day. Saving calories for a "special" day works, but not a good habit when you are losing. You will find that over time, your former habits will be gone and all the wonderful new foods and recipes…

Maintenance is a tricky place. It does seem to take some of us a while to get the hang of it. No kudos for staying the same weight. A lot of us call maintenance and continue to lose, some have trouble not gaining, BUT we all find that balance eventually. Well some of us do. MFP is mostly for people losing hence the threads…

So. I lost 70ish pounds in less than a year. I called maintenance after losing 50ish. Probably different than some, I continued losing for a while and ended up officially underweight. I struggled with the mental thing about gaining weight. I knew I should put on a couple of pounds but was scared I would keep gaining. Fast…

Champion on Amazon!! Good prices and they come in band/cup sizes. (No inserts) Good luck!

Hi. My daughter is 33, not on the spectrum, but DD-Blind. She is non-verbal and is like a potty trained 2 year old without vision. Very picky eater - doesn't like to chew, but will eat Goldfish crackers all day. My 13 year old grandson is on the spectrum and doesn't like "squishy" food. The good news is he is almost fully…

Prayers for you, @CoachJen71. I know you are scared. Please, please talk to your nurse tomorrow. There must be some way for you to seek medical care. We are all rooting for you!

@CoachJen71 We have been here for a while and kind of know each other. I think most of us here are somewhere on the obsessive/compulsive spectrum. Duh, that's how we got fat...and it's how we lost our weight. Without getting maudlin, here is something to think about. It actually works for me. Treat yourself as you would…

I think those of us who are runners get the "you're too skinny" thing a lot. Yeah, we tend to be slim, but strong! It must be a mix of envy and jealousy. If you feel good in your skin, then ta da! Don't worry about what others say (unless it's your mom - mom's can throw a wrench into anything, dammit.)
-
Guess what? If you want to lose weight, you can! Woo hoo! The best news ever. I lost over 70# and have kept it off for over 3 years. Why? Because I hated being fat!!! Eat lots of veggies instead of crap. Sweet tooth? Bromabakery.com has a fabulous recipe for 37 calorie brownies! Yes! You do not have to give up flavor to…

My neighbor and I weigh very close to the same - 116-118#. We are the same height. She constantly tells me I am too skinny. Maybe because I am 10ish years older than she and have the squiggly arm thing? People are so funny.

I was small busted until I turned 40. I gained a lot of weight after I quit smoking at age 53. Weighed in at 190, bra size 38D. I lost band size consistently as I lost the weight. Somewhere around 130#, the cup size went, too. I now am maintaining in the high 1teens and really don't need a bra any more :( 32B because,…

And MFP upgrading Monday. Not holding my breath. At least I have the fitbit/MFP thing figured out even if MFP doesn't.
-
If you are concerned about an unexpected weight loss, and all else is the same, maybe you should call your doctor...just in case.
-
Make sure to sign up for the MFP newsletter. It has recipes so you won't get bored eating the same thing. You also won't break the bank eating well. There are a bunch of blogs out there as well. Try skinnytaste.com for more recipe ideas. Greatist has a bunch of healthy living stuff as well as recipes. Add exercise or not,…

I am female, 59, 5'7", 118#. I am at the bottom of healthy weight and my doc and I are OK with it. I feel good. I run most days. Best of all, I can eat what I want!
-
I got one just trying to log in. Ugh
-
I agree with @try2again. I eat 2 scrambled eggs with a couple handfuls of spinach and some feta every morning with blueberries or cantaloupe or whatever fruit is in season. All less than 300 calories. Plenty of protein, vitamins and yumminess
-
Woo hoo, you rock! Happy fitversary :)
-
My first run after an injury 3-1/2 weeks ago. Felt great!
-
You are not screwed! OK, I am not a vegetarian, but I lost 70ish pounds in less than a year. Exercise. Find your passion. Log your food. MFP is a good tool. You can do this. P.S. I am a 59 year old woman. Age is not a factor. CICO works. Good luck
-
After losing 70ish pounds and holding rather steady on maintenance, I stopped logging just about a year ago. I stopped weighing weekly at the beginning of the year. I have kept my weight within a couple pounds of where I am comfortable. It's kind of funny because after logging for a couple of years here, I sort of "log"…

1800 if I sit on my fanny all day. Usually anywhere between 2000 - 3000 depending on if I ran or not. Am female, 59 and have been in maintenance 3 years.
-
@HappyInTheWater Mindfulness is paying attention to what you eat, when you eat. i.e. Do you walk by a bowl of candy and grab a piece without thinking? Or do you sit down on purpose at 3:00 to eat a banana? Other peeps here, please correct me if I am wrong...I'm sure you will.
-
:D So funny the peeps here.
-
@chandraminick I am rural, live on a farm. I am probably older than you, doesn't matter. I lost 70ish pounds doing the CICO thing. It is not as bad as it seems. Walk a couple of miles every day. There are tons of exercise videos on youtube - surely you can find some you will actually do. You may find you like running or…
-
5'7" here and last I checked was 118#. Low was 114 and did I get the skinny crap. "I bet you have to run around in the shower just to get wet" Still get it, just ignore it. My doc says I am good.
-
@paperpudding Who needs a machine to lift someone who weighs 120#? I helped my mom get up and she weighed maybe 130#. No problem and no machines or cherry pickers. @SummerSkier Woo Hoo! Seriously folks, I am just shy of normal BMI and my doctor is ok with it. I am 59 and in pretty damn good health. I suppose if I were to…

When my mom's cancer went to her brain, we (reluctantly) put her in a nursing home. Her roommate was a very large woman - 300+#. Staff had to use a cherry picker to get her in and out of the bed and into a wheelchair. Why, oh why, would anyone say it is better to gain weight in our golden years?
