  • Good advice @moe0303! So glad you like crossfit, I've heard wonderful things about it. I have considered it but the cost and committment are not practicable at the moment, but maybe someday. I do like group classes and may join a gym again, once I have a bit of extra cash (when my car is paid off this fall). I'll check out…
  • I have heard of Barre, but have never tried it. Definately going to look that up! Hiking is so nice. I'm planning a hike on Saturday with the family :)
  • My random check-in, but at least I am keeping track of my week! So far pertty good... Drop 2 lbs – 1.2 (all water weight for certain) No alcohol on weekdays – yes, yes, yes, so far yes Do something active every day – Walk, Nothing, legs/butt video, arms video/walking Carbs under 50 – No, yes, yes, so far yes Positive…
  • And oven bacon is yummy! Thanks for the advice about the correct temperature @KnitOrMiss . I've been cooking it way too hot, around 400.
  • @Sunny_Bunny_ I totally agree with ditching the Keurig! I either use a french press or Bialetti mokka express. You can see the yummy oils from the coffee beans floating in the brew :)
  • Nice, I definately think they are good! Just the whole range/flag thing was weird. I worked as a chemist in an environmental lab (non-medical) for a few years, and we flagged data whenever it was warranted. But the reports included definitions and explainations for each item. This was just a lonely L. Everyones input has…
  • @DorkothyParker - Mine was thorugh a work physical too. I plan to bring the labs to my next regular doctors appt just to see if he/she has any insight. I will be changing doctors this year so we'll see how it goes. If you have a chance to discuss with a dr at some point I would like to know what you find out!
  • Oh, that makes sense, the ratio was flagged not the cholesterol numbers. Thanks for the link to the study. I read the abstract and... I think I would need a dictionary to understand at least half of it, very technical! I appreciate the breakdown above!
  • Thanks for your responses! I thought it strange that there was a lower bound in the reference range as well... Other values only had a higher bound. The only information I have found is that low cholesterol (though lower than I have) can lead to a compromised immune system. Agree with the suggestion for more coconut oil :)
  • My moms 70th birthday is on V Day, and I am hosting the party. She loves Chinese food so I'm making sweet sour chicken, chow mien and egg rolls for a crowd.
  • Korean short ribs and baby bel cheese today. I get tired of eggs sometimes too :p
  • I am definitely feeling more fabulous today than I was yesterday! Thanks for the motivation @workathomemama !
  • Last week I worked hard to make choices that kept me below 40g carbs/day. I lost 4 lbs (of water), and felt really good. Unfortunately the weekend happened, and 2 days of bad choices have left me tired and hangry… but I am back on track this week. So for the rest of February my healthy choices are to reduce stress and…
  • LOL I agree! Answers were by checkbox, but next I'll just cross out the question and write that in a note next to it! ;)
  • I have Walgreens in town and will check there, thanks! Congratulations on your success!
  • Thanks for the detailed information! It was a crazy busy day when I was looking for them, so I did not ask for help. I'll check at the diabetic supplies on my next trip!
  • I would like to pick up some Keto test strips. Could anyone please let me know where they are usually located in a drug store? I couldn't find them at Rite-Aid the other day. Maybe they just didn't carry them. Thanks!
  • I've got my little fitbit zip on. Just tracks steps but that is all I need. TPBM loves bacon!
  • Plug in crockpot, add meat. Hmmm, guess I better put more thought into this. Go Broncos!!!
  • Her reaction to the cookies remind me of a microwave chocolate mug cake I once made... it was pretty bad! But I added HWC on top and it was much better. Maybe she could dip the cookies in HWC? I thought the article was funny, sad but funny...
  • Multi - recommended by my dermatologist D3 liquid - because labs came back low K2 - because needed for Ca and D3 Biotin - recommended by my dermatologist magnesium citrate - numerous reasons turmeric - anti-inflammatory black cohosh - hormone support I have low cholesterol, but since eating HF I do not worry about…
  • I recommend joining the Low Carber Daily Forum... The LCD Group, if you haven't already. There are lots of knowledgeable folks who have been no or low carb for years, and are great at answering questions about macros, food choices, etc. I am LC, and stay around 50g a day. I make up for the rest of my calories in fat and…
  • I have a corporate job, but work out of my home office most days. I just started doing what I call my conference call workouts. Instead of sitting in a chair for an hour listening into meetings I put the phone on mute and do a workout for at least part of it (when I don't have to contribute of course). I also do kitchen…
  • I did ww about 8 yrs ago, because a friend prodded me into joining with her. I lost 20 lbs in about 4 months, but I really think the success was from having support from my friend, not the points system or meetings. I did not know anything about MFP back then. Not even sure how long it has been around?
  • My dermatologist advises T/Sal shampoo, available in drug stores. I also use a prescription for flare-ups, but use it very sparingly. I've tried lots of natural remedies (many you and others described), but I resort to use the prescription when it gets really bad. I've had psoriasis since I was a kid, sounds very similar…
  • Lists with pix, great idea! I have him scanning ingredients lists for red 40 (hate that it is in so many kid foods) and checking all expiration dates. Time to focus on the nutrition labels as well!
  • Yes, he is so well meaning and is such a sweet guy. I will try the butter in BPC. I might love it! I can just add salt when cooking. Thanks for the idea! Just opened the pickles and realized he got sweet gherkins, 8g carbs per pickle! :p I think I may be on the higher end of LC for the next week.
  • As tempted as I am to ship them out I will probably eat every single one because they are my absolute favorite candy.... At 9 grams of carb a piece I better be good and spread them out over a few weeks. Or I can just leave them on the counter and my boys will relieve me of the temptation in a few days!
  • Great work!!! I am starting strength training too, a little bit of muscle would be nice. Thanks for sharing your pix!
  • A friend of mine saw a hen eat a mouse once. Wonder how nutritionally different those eggs were? I feed my hens some grain and crumbles, but for the most part they eat worms, bugs, wild greens they find around the coop, leftover veggies from my garden and kitchen, coffee grounds, bread, etc. Eggs vary from various shades…
