I started my dog on lc a few months ago; ground turkey, bone broth and pure balance bison and pea (grain free dry food). Would like to add eggs into the mix as the chickens are laying like crazy right now. Wish she was in better health though. Just diagnosed with heart disease at age 8. Maybe an lc diet will help her stay…

Thanks for the dinner idea!

Lots of little motivators, but the big ones are I don’t want to go through cancer again if at all possible, and I want to be around long enough to enjoy watching my grand children grow-up. I had my only child in my late 30’s and want to live long and healthy and enjoy my family as long as possible. Other health issues that…

I think I read people with arrhythmia should not do IF, or should check with a cardiologist first. Remember thinking I should not recommend this to my mom because of that. But I have not researched it.

Nice video, thanks for posting. Cool that his favorite mountain happens to be about an hour drive from my house. I'll be keeping my eye out for Phinney.

@megemrj thanks for the info about using Kerry gold! Ghee is so expensive, and I have some digestive issues with dairy so will need to try and see if this helps :)

I saw the title and thought this was about clarifying butter ;) . Which I have actually thought about trying before. Wonder how it would taste in bpc? http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/clarified-butter-recipe.html I liked the video! Thanks!

Puke... eww. Been there unfortunately! Good reminder about hair ball season. Must get the cat brush out, and take an allergy pill before starting.

This is the dinner time stare. Much worse in the morning, meowing, rattling, scratching... Starting about 5am!

Ditto on intermittent fasting. I'm finally seeing the stubborn last few lbs of fat melt off once starting IF. Though I also follow a low carb diet. The two are working great for me.

Thanks for posting, and bumping! A long read but well worth the time. I have long been a fan of Dr. Lustig, his Sugar: The Bitter Truth presentation mentioned in the article was what got me started on researching LC last year. I was not aware of Yudkin's work.

I am stalking the boards too, trying to keep motivation up to finish up the last of my 16 hour fast. So far no cheating! I have a ton of things to do today, but focus is completely gone.. so light headed right now. Even after a big mug of strong beef broth about an hour ago. My day will get better after the kale salad with…

@KarlynKeto your post is very encouraging. I am looking forward to getting to the way easier point! Nice that you could take some time off and not need to start all over again getting adapted.

I have recently started IF. I would naturally fast for about 13/14 hours just because of not being hungry in the morning, but have just bumped it up to about 16/17 hours to see if I can reduce the fat on my belly and thighs (my first place to gain and last place to lose). Funny how I really don’t feel the need to eat much…

I have a coconut yogurt recipe that uses gelatin. I put a batch in this morning, and will pay attention to how my knees feel by the end of this week!

Mmmm pancakes. I must try some soon. My newest recipe ttied is for coconut milk yogurt. I bought a cheap yogurt maker and found a recipe in a paleo cookbook. First batch finished up yesterday. So good!

Haha! Love the pix! For a month or two we were collecting fertilized eggs, but we're sure to get those in the fridge quickly! Indominus Rex is now in the freezer, legs and breasts, all ready to cook in the coconut curry I have in mind for him. Mean ol rooster. Our backyard looked (and sounded) like horror movie that…

I like Against all Grain by Danielle Walker. She just came out with another cookbook, can't remember the name at the moment, but I definitely plan to get it too.

@ladipoet I am in Nor Cal and will look for Peak! I've not seen it at the regular grocery, but may be able to find it at a specialty store.

So hard to find good full fat low carb yogurt. Even harder to find dairy free coconut yogurt. I just ordered a cheap yogurt maker off amazon. Hoping for good results!

I live in Northern California and they definately carry it at Raleys. Not sure if you have that store down where you live, but it is worth a shot!

Yes! Vivid dreams and better sleep. The daylight savings time change will be easy this year.

If the boss wife is already a friend of yours it may be ok to mention it in advance. Otherwise I would just go and fill your plate mostly with the foods you want and very little of those you don't. Then just eat the good stuff. Always ok to decline bread and be too full for dessert.

Gasp indeed! Wonder what the charity is? Hope paramedics are standing by!
