I was going to say the same thing. I've always viewed nerd-dom as being part of a club where you are more intelligent than 95% of people. It's neither intelligent (or wise) to spend too much precious (and limited) time on silly things like comics and video games. Don't confuse "geek" with "nerd".

If you have time to talk and hit on members of the opposite sex, you aren't working out hard enough. Most of the men and women I see at the gym who are serious about their investment of time in themselves don't have time for idle chit-chat (nor do they want to be disturbed.)

I have a suggestion - drink water instead. Soda of any sort is terrible for you.

if you are going to supplement don't forget magnesium. the "conventional wisdom" of 2:1 cal:mag ratio has been debunked, but you need both - and vitamin d is synergistic. as an earlier poster noted, take D supplements with some fats as D is fat-soluble. i take mine with fish oil capsules.

Life's too short to feel guilty. Enjoy your wine and if you really feel bad about it, go for a long walk tomorrow to burn off the calories. This is assuming all other aspects of your eating are OK...

Yes. (to OP's question).

The notion of a "cleanse" is a scam, pure and simple. Just eat naturally occurring foods, stay away as much as you can from manufactured food, stay hydrated with water, get your proper macros and your body will take care of itself.

Magnesium Citrate is what you need. Start with 600 mg daily, if you don't get a reaction in a few days, up the dosage by 150 mg. My wife has had constipation issues for years. Started her on Magnesium Citrate 2 weeks ago, she now goes every day.

Big fan of the crock pot. Key is to brown meats like pork, beef, etc, caramelize onions and carrots, etc and use plenty of seasonings. Easy to make a very tasty dish, even if it's not usually the most aesthetically pleasing. Nothing quite like coming home at the end of the day and smelling a glorious pulled pork or beef…

Yes. Would you lick the inside of a public toilet bowl that appeared to be clean for $10,000?

This is purely anecdotal, but I had read an article suggesting that caffeine could limit DOMS after a hard workout if ingested both prior and after. I started having a large cup (12 oz) of black coffee first thing in the AM, about 45 mins prior to my workout, and another right after. I'm convinced it works, muscles seemed…

Fantastic and inspiring. Great work!

Are you lifting weights? No? Time to start.
-
Farid, I think you're over-thinking it. As others have suggested, best thing to do is lift heavy, get a lot of protein (I like my macros at 40 protein, 30 carbs, 30 fat - I find that works well with my body, others mileage may vary), be in a calorie deficit most of the time. I say "most of the time" because I'm getting…

Hack squats. Best exercise for the vastus lateralis. Suggest 5 sets of 5 reps (at a weight where by the 5th rep you are struggling.)

Why do I always end up having to post right after the obvious ones? Knockout.
