Iron rich vegetarian foods: http://bembu.com/iron-rich-foods-for-vegetarians-and-vegans I buy a brand of sundried tomatoes (not packed in oil) that have 70% of the iron RDA in one tablespoon. I add them to pasta, cooked eggs, etc.

That's a fantastic goal - and you're only five pounds away from losing 10% of your starting weight, which is a big health boost!

Awesome work - go, go, go!
-
Awesome - and I love that you are doing it in a healthy way with good food choices! Be sure to post an update when you crush your NEXT goal!

All the Moosewoods are good, but their "Cooking for Health" is the most health-focused. Their "Simple Suppers" is also excellent and has lots of healthy choices.

Look how happy you look!

Wow, big difference!

When I had a severely injured ankle, I did mat pilates for my exercise. You're lying down pretty much the whole time, so there is no weight at all on your foot.
-
I tried the creamer when I had to go dairy free for a while - I really liked it, but it's pretty sweet, so it may not be for everyone.

I sometimes have a hot cup of vegetable bouillon on cold afternoons - it's like soup without the stuff in it, right? 5 calories and satisfies in a different way than herbal tea. Anyway, if you're weird, I'm weird too.

Water, fresh fruits and veggies, exercise, and more water!

Agreed about watching your calories and swimming, and I also wanted to suggest mat pilates for toning/strengthening. You're lying down the whole time, so there's no pressure on your feet at all. When I hurt my ankle badly before, it was the only thing I could do.

When I had a job that required long hours, it made it much easier if I didn't go home after work until I had gotten in some exercise. For me, once I got home, it was so hard to get motivated. I brought my workout clothes to work and changed when my day was done. From work, I went directly to the gym, or just went for a…

If the YMCA is financially tight for you, you can talk to them about sliding scale. They're a non-profit and they will try to meet your needs. The Y we go to has *amazing* infant care - they sit and snuggle the babies, will sit in rocking chairs and let the babies sleep on them, and even change their diapers so you won't…

I just read this article yesterday -I think it does a really good job explaining why diet is a more important factor than exercise: http://vitals.lifehacker.com/exercise-vs-diet-which-is-more-important-for-weight-l-1677532039/+whitsongordon

Congratulations, Brandon - you're a courageous guy!

Those are great steps - you're on your way!

Can I still call it "baby weight" if my "baby" is three years old already? I think I can! Anyway, mom of two, trying to lose about a pound a week for the next 25 weeks or so. Feel free to add me, anyone - I'm on MFP whenever I can.

Saute with a little olive oil and chopped garlic and sprinkle a little sherry vinegar on it.
-
Did it!
-
Aww, look at you with your sassy pose! Awesome!

Here's a link to a vegan/vegetarian MFP group - I think there's still no search function on the groups page: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/45-happy-herbivores

I've had bouts of GERD for the past 6 years now. I was misdiagnosed at first and had my gall bladder removed (I'm still bitter about that!). Anyway, mine is under control since I've cut way down on spicy foods, coffee and alcohol. I can still have them, just less than I used to. I rarely have to take meds, only if I've…

Fantastic - I'm looking forward to getting to my first ten pounds gone.
-
Add me, too! I have two kids under the age of 6, so I know what it's like to be making snacks all the time and wanting to help myself to a taste...

Seconding the recommendation for http://ohsheglows.com/.

You might like http://www.budgetbytes.com/ ; she has a lot of recipes. The healthiest ones are probably the ones tagged "beans and grains" and "vegetarian". A price estimate per dish is included for all recipes, which is a good guide.

What do you think could be triggering the binge? Are you not eating enough on your "on track" two days? Are you bored with your usual "on track" foods?
