@juliet3455 No, I am in Metro Vancouver, below Golden Ears Park, west of Vancouver. All of the communities below the mountains are having terrible air quality going on two weeks now. Those on the southern side are finally improving. The mountains must be trapping the smoke. I checked and Tumbler Ridge air looks good right…

Thanks! I'm switching to that measurement then.

Thanks for the specifics @MobyCarp . Yes, I think the calorie goal makes a huge difference in how easy it is. I can hit my protein with a 1300 goal, but when it's closer to 2000, it's much more difficult. @shanaber My husband is the same way. His favourite are the plain sour cream donuts. Not me, I like them all. We only…

Question for the ladies on the measurement chart . . . when you measure waist, do you measure at the naval or at the smallest point? I saw on that other spreadsheet @Elise4270 linked to, it requested the minimum measurement. Mine are quite different . . . hmmm . . . I'd love to start using the smaller number.

I managed to catch up on reading all y'all posts and I managed a run - yay! We have an air advisory here due to wildfires in our province. The mountains aren't visible, it's hot out and smells like a campfire, and the sun is a red ball in the sky. It has lasted for almost two weeks already, but with no end forecast, I…

Same, but these are our before/during; we're striving for our after numbers. I added mine as best I could. I will need to check them all again as I realized at the end that I was reading the cm lines wrong lol.

@7lenny7 I have been the same. I lost 50 lbs staying on track and then seemed to ease up and have had trouble getting to my goal now. I also have switched from low fat to full fat. Thanks for sharing your story. @MobyCarp What were your macros or ranges when you were losing? I feel better on higher protein and carbs too…

Omg @MNLittleFinn looks more like a rock climbing course!

Hi, all. I can't believe I'm already late to the party. Thanks @stoshew71 for setting us up for another month. Hope August treats you more kindly. Ha @PastorVincent I also like ketchup on my hot dogs along with relish or a pickle slice. I don't eat them often, but especially love them when camping. Speaking of pickle . . .…

July 29: 4.89 km MTD: 62.81 / 75 km Well, I won't reach my goal unless I count hiking, which would put me at 69.63 and I have 7 km planned for tomorrow. Oh well, it wasn't so bad a month. Today, I was able to run for 30 mins without walking. I'm slowly making progress.

Omg that is too adorable @JimCrackinDandy

Good luck @PastorVincent !!

@juliet3455 Ha, I wish. I only have three pairs of running shoes. My house (and closets) are small. My watch collection took me 14 years to grow to three. I've gotten a new one every seven years, whether I need it or not. July 28: 3.07 recovery run/walk MTD: 57.92 / 75 km

@KatieJane83 So smart! My laces are annoyingly short on my Altras when I do the runners' lacing needed for the heel not to slip. I have never seen or heard (or thought) of this. Thanks so much! Great photo skills @_nikkiwolf_ ! The TomTom looks slightly bigger than my Garmin. I've heard TomToms are a good value for…

July 27: 4.08 km MTD: 54.85 km / 75 km Completely uneventful, just the way I like it. Was getting pretty hot because I couldn't get my butt out the door after doing my strength training. Always feels good to be done though.

I thought they were getting so much smaller. For comparison, here is my Garmin evolution (didn't start out quite as big as @garygse 's though lol), and the older ones still work because they last forever. I went through a couple of Fitbits in a few months before I bought the 735XT, which I bought solely for the stress…

My husband is a postie and I bought him a little electric shoe fan to dry his shoes (we live in a rainy place). It's awesome. A little egg-shaped fan fits in each shoe and he plugs it in and they safely dry overnight. I think I paid about $30 at MEC (Canada's version of REI). I've tried the vinegar to get the stink out,…

@garygse Ditto what @Orphia said. Love it! @JessicaMcB and @katharmonic Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I can find a small something to clip to my fuel belt.

July 23: 4.24 km MTD: 47.42 / 75 km I had a bad week and skipped a couple of planned runs. Now, I'm behind on my mileage goal. I got spooked by a large Mastiff (my best guess) on the loose a few minutes into my last run. On the bright side, I first thought it was a cougar because it ran across the street so fast and was a…

Thanks to those for the info on the Balega socks. I have a pair of wool ones that I love but find too hot in the summer. I'll have to look for a pair for warmer weather. @JessicaMcB You are truly inspiring that you are able to run so much with three toddlers. Wow! @Elise4270 Gosh, you crack me up. I hope your hubsters was…

July 18: 3.08 km and strength MTD: 40.82 / 75 km I started doing Strong Curves (strength training focusing on the glutes/legs) last week and I am achy all the time. As long as I can make myself go for a run after, it doesn't seem to be having a negative impact on my performance. Today, I ran for 20 mins without a walk…

@Elise4270 Both hydration packs are tiny and adorable. Thank you for sharing them. I will have to pick one up if I decide to do another half. I have one I bought from Costco, and it is humongous in comparison to those. They look perfect. @MNLittleFinn and @MobyCarp Congratulations on your races. Loved the race reports!…

July 15: 3.34 km MTD: 37.73 / 75 km 15 minutes of today's run were in Zone 3 (had to take three ~30-sec walk breaks to keep my hr in the zone). I may be making small improvements! @katharmonic That undress looks awesome. She made it look really easy; I would be awkward and likely fall over.
-
@MNLittleFinn yes, good luck with your race!
-
@garygse Thanks! Ha, an uber would definitely be needed to meet mine too. Garmin predicts I could run my half 40 mins faster. I know I have a lot of room for improvement, but I can't figure out where it's getting these numbers from. @MobyCarp lol I'm happy to hear you could only meet the predictions if taking something on…
-
@skippygirlsmom that must have been so scary. I'm glad you made it home safe. I hope you feel better soon. July 13: 2.81 km MTD: 34.39 / 75 km I started doing the Strong Curves book on Monday. I can tell it's exactly the strength training I've been looking for, with a focus on the glutes and legs. But I am feeling pretty…

Ooooh, sorry, Elise. I have had an eye twitch in both eyes for over two years. The doc insists it is stress, but it is to the point of being torturous. You'd think I would get used to it, but because it is intermittent and varies from eye to eye throughout the day, I never do. At one point, it moved into my forehead for a…

I get bloody, black toenails on my big toe and next two beside. The big toe hits the top of the shoe and the other two are because the toes curl (hammer toes) and the nail hits the bottom of the shoe. I have bought silicon toe caps that I wear under my socks. The only trouble is that when the feet get damp or sweaty, they…
