Actually I'm not. I'm taking a silly idea to ridiculous levels. That's just my sense of humor. I'm glad you found it amusing. I think I owe the OP an apology. So sorry.

I cant believe I'm encouraging the blatant hijacking of this threat. But... Of course the Earth is flat. Just look at a map. The confusion comes from higher dimentional geometry. 2 dimensional planes are curved in 3 dimensional space (just like 3D space is curved in 4D spacetime). So someone looking at our 2D world from a…

I understand about being on and off. I was surprised to realize I've been off for 5 years. I only got serious about about two months ago. Welcome to the site. I hope it helps you reach your goals.

Step one: forgive yourself. You have to love yourself in order to lose weight. If you keep telling yourself that you hate yourself, sooner or later you're going to start believing it. Step two: ask yourself what went wrong. Binges happen, part of the process is to figure out why. Be honest with yourself. Then come up with…

Neither do I. Whatever mechanism that is supposed to tell me when I'm full and should stop eating broke a long time ago. The best I can do now is measure out the portions that I budget for each food item. Put that much on my plate and when it's gone, don't go back for more. That covers meals, there are two other situations…

I dont eat breakfast or lunch, thereby saving all my calories for dinner. I aim to spend 3/4 of my daily calories on dinner then spend the rest on dessert a couple hours later. It helps that I dont get hungry until late afternoon, and now (after doing this for awhile) I'm not getting hungry until dinnertime.

Welcome to the site. The nice thing about the MFP diet is that there is nothing wrong with sweets at night. Just find out how many calories you're talking about and make sure you have that many calories left after you have eaten everything else for the day. Then you can enjoy your treat without guilt.

Welcome to MFP. Personally, I have no interest in going premium. Everything I need the app to do, I can do in the free version. The power of the app is the database of food stats, and that's free. If you log everything you eat in the diary, and keep that under your daily budget, you'll do fine. The Community page is a…

I'm pretty sure he didn't lose 23 lbs of fat in a week. That would require a calorie deficit of 11,500 calories. If I didn't eat anything all week and ran a marathon every day, I still wouldn't come close to that. What is more likely is that he lost 23 lbs of mostly water. If he has just been to the doctor and got new or…

I do a OMAD diet. I usually dont get a hungry until about 2:00 and I realized that I can easily hold off until 6:00. I am closer to 4:20, as I consider dessert part of dinner, but I eat it a couple hours later. I still log my meal in MFP as it is surprisingly easy to blow my calorie budget even in one meal. My meal is well…

The first I notice about restaurants is that they put a lot of salt in their food. Excess salt causes water retention and water retention causes a jump on the scale. I usually gain 2 lbs or more in water after eating out. It eventually flushes out, but it's still discouraging. I preload my meals into MFP so I know how much…

First off, I wish I knew. If I knew how to break the cycle, I wouldn't be at the top trying to come down again. I think the problem is that "diet" is a four letter word and we want to avoid it like the coronavirus. A diet is nothing more than a description of the foods you eat. My 5yo is on a diet of peanutbutter crackers…

Wow, if anyone had asked, I would have said that intermittent fasting works for me, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else. Nice to know I'm not alone. I generally dont get hungry until about 2:00. I used to make the mistake of eating a full late lunch and then a full dinner. That didn't do me any favors. Now I hold…
