  • I started my first week of my Body Beast hybrid. This morning I did P90X's Ab Ripper, followed by Body Beast Bulk Shoulders and Bulk Chest. My menu plan has been good so far, aiming for 40C/40P/20F.
  • Really annoying! I now use the printout sheets and don't bother watching the DVD now.
  • I have done P90X, Insanity, P90X3, and Body Beast. Right now I am doing a blend of Body Beast and P90X3 in hopes of losing 15 lbs and 7% body fat. I would love to connect with people using similar programs.
  • P90X is good, but the workouts were long (45-60 mins). P90X3 incorporates the same concept, but in 30-minute sessions. I enjoyed both and am now doing Body Beast (weight lifting) with some P90X3 mixed in for variety.
  • I have always found doing what I think is more fun works. Either that or write a training plan calendar that mixes both.
  • I enjoyed P90X also. I found P90X3 to be even better, but for those who enjoy more weights, Body Beast is the way to go. I have gone four days without cheating on the diet, although today is the first day I ran out of time to exercise. Looks like double duty tomorrow. A huge tip for muscle soreness, especially Legs Days...…
  • I think you will love the workouts, but eventually play the DVDs without sound. The trainer talks a lot and can get annoying. What goals are you setting yourself?
  • A guide from Bodybuilding.com suggests the following: [(Weight in lbs)/2.2] x 0.086 x Minutes Weight lifting Keep in mind, this is not exact and only an estimation according to a physician with 25yrs experience
  • Anyone still doing this?

  • I have done Body Beast a few times and am starting another round this week. I am using a 72cm ball as my "bench" and a foot stool for the Leg step-up exercises. I have a set of 5-52 lbs Bowflex dumbells and resistance bands. I work out in my garage, so screwing in a heavy-duty hook into a 2x4 wall stud allows me to use…
  • I really enjoy weight lifting and this is a great program to buy. Yes, you may build a little muscle, but muscle burns more calories and you will look great. My only complaint is the coach talks too much and gets on my nerves. Now I do the workouts using the sheets and don't play the DVDs. Still, a great workout program!
  • Hahaha, I bundled up and went for a 4-mile walk instead. I know, I know, I NEED to learn to like yoga, but there is logic in my madness. There is a tendon in my elbow that is inflamed and I am trying to rest it so it can fully recover. This is why I am doing the LEAN version of P90X3.... less weights and more aerobics. I…
  • Ran/walked three miles yesterday, just in time to beat the rain and gusty winds. Today is supposed to be P90X3 yoga and Ab ripper X. I will confess right now, I do not enjoy yoga at all, but I will do my best to muddle through this. Winds outside are howling at 40mph and the wind chill is 14'F, so I doubt I will do…
  • I have not had a soda in over two years now. I have found the caffeine cravings go away after a few days, but drinking green tea or a cup of coffee in the morning can help with that if you must absolutely have your morning kick. By the way, tea delivers caffeine in a slower, more effective manner than coffee. I found it…
  • I have been running half marathons since 2007, but have been "off the wagon" for 90 days and am getting back into the swing of things. I am doing a P90X3 program with half marathon training mixed in. I do not have any particular races planned, but I hope to be ready to enter one by late April.
  • I have done P90X, Insanity, P90x3, and Body Beast. P90X was a good program to break into the Beachbody system. Insanity is strictly cardio and I was somewhat disappointed by the results I expected versus actual. Yes, I was physically more fit, but my body fat ratio remained constant. P90X3 is fantastic if you liked P90X…
  • Just started P90X3 with half marathon training mixed in. This will be my second time doing P90X3.
  • I am starting the first week, although I have completed Body Beast before. I am blending the workouts with some half marathon training and look forward to hear from others and their progress.
  • If you enjoy free weights, it is a great program to get into. The coach on the DVD can be annoying, but I usually hit MUTE and follow along.
  • Congrats on completing P90X3 and looking forward to hearing more success stories on you next program.
  • Completed P90X, Insanity, P90X3, and Body Beast. I love P90X3 and right now I am doing a hybrid of Body Beast and training for a half marathon.
  • Completed P90X, Insanity, P90X3, and Body Beast. I really enjoyed P90X3 and right now I am doing Body Beast (again) while training for a half marathon.
  • Loved P90X3 and rank it higher than Insanity and P90X. Currently doing Body Beast and training for a half marathon.
  • @brooktini I have completed P90X, Insanity, P90X3, and Body beast and never tried the Doubles Option. My time is limited and it would be difficult for me to squeeze two workouts in the day. @carlypie How are you enjoying P90X3? I liked it more than P90X, especially the shorter version of Yoga. @SnozzberryJuice I have to…

  • Having spent so long in the military, I take doing pushups for granted, but I have witnessed for myself this is more difficult for women in general than men. I do not have a scientific explanation, only what I have seen. For me, my weakness is pullups, which I am making a concerted effort to improve this summer. My goal is…

  • Body beast is designed around doing 15-12-8 reps, so I would go to a sporting goods story and see what weight you can do 8 reps of (bicep curls, shoulder press, etc) and that should be the heaviest you buy for now until your strength increases.
  • If you can't find a place for a pullup bar, you can also try a heavy-duty hook (sometimes used to store bicycles from the ceiling) and some exercise resistance bands. Attach the hook to a ceiling joist and use the bands to simulate pullups. Look into purchasing Bowflex Dial-Wieghts. I have a set which allows me to have…
  • I have done several rounds of Body Beast and love it. I made an Excel spreadsheet that uses the brochure's formulas so computing calories is easy for me.
  • I would buy them. It also helps to wait until the next model comes out and they have your current model on sale. Sounds like that is what you are fortunately enough to experience. Good luck.
  • Did P90X3 and enjoyed it. Then I ordered Body Beast and have been doing that since. Much more weightlifting and less cardio.
