Washing your fruits and vegetables gets rid of most of what remains. The reason apples are on the 'dirty dozen' list and not oranges is that you peel oranges which means you get rid of the outer layer of the fruit where most of the pesticides would remain. You could peel your apples and grapes to lessen your risk if you…

You may just want to cut down to single portion sizes. You can still have steak, just not an entire family's steak.

I would stick with the 5k distance. A local school puts on a 5k fun run which takes out some of the expenses because no one expects a lot of the race perks. I think they were targeting the color/ glow run type people and didn't even try to have it be competitive. The entry cost is low so they get more people. They make it…

It depends on your walking. When I'm fast walking, it can still take a toll on my legs (although different toll than running). But, that's like 12 min/mile fast walking. Regular strolling or even brisk walking (say anything at or above 17 min/miles) doesn't seem to affect me as much. Have you looked into biking? Low impact…

I don't know about too much food but it is too much picture.

I've always seen a water stop around the 3k mark on 5ks. I usually don't stop. I don't usually eat before a run but my runs are usually within 15 minutes of waking up. If the 5k is a bit of a drive and you know you're going to be standing around for 1/2 hour prior to the start, I would eat something like toast with peanut…

I lost weight and after a month or two at goal, stopped logging. I pretty much stayed the weight I was, unless I traveled. So 2 week vacation = 5 pounds, nephew's wedding = 5 pounds, etc. Over a period of 12 - 18 months, I gained 15 pounds. I'm now logging again but not going hardcore and I go slightly over pretty much…

I run up to 90 minutes fine on an empty stomach without eating during. For a run that's going to be over 90 minutes, I'll have something to eat at about the one hour mark. Whether that's a gel, chew or gummy bears/red vines depends on what I have at the house. I try to have something at each hour mark after that depending…

I've done both. I'm currently on MFP because it's cheaper. I did WW online with the Points Plus system and the free* fruit/veggies worked for me. I liked their counting tools better and appreciate the cleaner database. Sure MFP has more stuff but how much of that is 100 entries for skim milk? I also liked the forums better…

You can eat the calories back but be careful that the exercise calculator is accurate. I've found it tends to overpredict which is why many people say to eat only 50% back.

I was in England at that time and am also banned from giving blood. Kind of sucks as I have a helpful blood type and I liked getting the cookies and sticker. But, when I do something really stupid I can blame it on the mad cow disease.

If you're thinking of getting a stationary bike, consider just getting a bike trainer. You put your existing bike onto the contraption and then just go. When the bike is used outside in the summer, the trainer doesn't take up much space at all. You can also look at craigslist for a used treadmill. I can't give advice about…

Do you work full time? Maybe getting out for a walk during lunch? How old is tot? Can kid be left alone for any period of time or at least left to amuse themself for a while so you can do something at home?

This reminded me of a guy who used to wear spandex at yoga where every outline of every thing was visible. Yoga is too close of quarters for that tight of pants. It would have been just fine in a normal gym situation.

Chiquita bananas have a much better jingle.

Have you tried quinine? You used to be able to buy it from the pharmacy counter without a prescription. It's also in tonic water. (standard not a doctor or other medical professional disclaimer here)

Like everyone says, switch out the mixer for something lower calorie and you've done about all you can do to still have alcohol and have it taste good. I prefer coke zero instead of diet coke when mixing it. This despite the fact that I love my diet coke. Also, I find if I drink the good stuff I drink less because I can…

Ranch is ranch dressing - buttermilk, salt, garlic, onion, herbs and spices with variations. Some people live on it. It's okay.

The Beverly Hills Diet. I never got past the point where you can only eat fruit.

I did the walk in LA when I lived there so stayed at home. It's nice to have your own bed but you do miss the camaraderie of the village.

They're condiments, not sauces. OP - I'll give you have of my french fries, scrambled eggs or ham and I'll take your portion of ketchup.

If I'm correct, this is with Avon and they've been doing it for years. They do have good training information if you read your informational packet.

If someone's coming straight from work and hasn't washed off their makeup, it makes sense and isn't an issue. I don't understand the people at 6 am at the gym working out with makeup on. I'm there with bed head knowing I'm going to take a shower after working up a sweat and someone next to me will be there already made up…

You could look up a marathon training plan and instead of running the distances, just walk them. Also, the group organizing it should have some training information to give you. I did one of those years ago. I didn't train enough and the second day was a bear. Get good shoes.

I'm a little confused by your post where you say you're happiest at BMI 25 but then say you have to drop 40 lbs to get there. Since 24.9 is normal, I really don't see why 25 is bad. I like to be in the 24.5 - 25 range which is about a 5 lb range although my doctor wouldn't object if I was in the 26 - 26.5 range.

If you do heavy exercise, it helps to have some protein soon after to combat the munchies. It can be a protein shake or a peanut butter sandwich or anything else you like. Not getting protein after a heavy workout can lead to some serious eating.

Considering how often I have to watch and be super careful crossing streets, I doubt they even see you. You could be wearing blaze orange and running like Phoebe in the above clip and drivers still won't see you.
