Always fascinated by this. It does differ by brand, but generally i change a size every 10 lbs. Right now, 5'8", 186lbs, size 14. Before pregnancy and gaining the weight was a size 8-ish between 150-160lbs, a size 10ish 160-170lbs, etc.
