And if it turn out it's not her gall bladder? OP: I'd get a second (and possibly third) opinion on your issue. TBH, gall bladder surgery is major surgery and it's not something to enter in to lightly. My sister was having issues several years ago and the doctors were adamant that it was her gall bladder -- even though…

BMI has been proven to be flawed, especially if one is athletic. OP: I would go see your doctor to see if you have any specific vitamin deficiencies.

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, pork tenderloin, 2 TB of hummus, vegetables . . . I just made tuna salad and it was low in calories, fat, sugar etc. There are plenty of low fat/low sugar/low cal foods out there that aren't "diet".
-
You need to take pre and pro biotics. And not just until your issue goes away but all the time.

Honestly unless the food you're eating is really, really bland there's not much reason to add salt. I'll add salt to garden fresh tomatoes and cukes and to corn on the cob but other food? I don't really find it necessary.

100% Agree with this. The local restaurant my husband and I go to changes their menu a lot. They also offer special dinners with special menus. That would be a boat load of money for them to calculate all the calories in the courses and print up menus for it that are going to get tossed into the garbage at the end of the…
-
It depends on how much it costs to make up all new menus with the calorie counts. Then if they have their menu online they have to pay their web developer to redo the site to show the calorie counts there too. Restaurant margins run pretty thin so yeah, if it's a really small place it could put a huge cramp in their…

Private owned ones are exempt for now. Give it time. I'm sure they will have to do the same at some point. I guess I'm spoiled though since I know the chef and owner at my local restaurant and I can have them make me something off the menu or alter the dish so it's less caloric than it normally would be (and I don't have…

Oh, I'm sorry the "Affordable" Healthcare Act.
-
Why? Because someone is concerned about eating out and how many calories they might ingest in just one meal? It's not so "lol" if you have a certain number of calories remaining and the meal will put you way, WAY over for the day. And if they eat out three times a week? The pounds will slip on. I know plenty of people who…

Funny you should say that (note the bold). Obamacare has a new law in place that is forcing restaurants to put the calorie amounts on their menus. If they don't then they pay a hefty fine. The problem though is that the calories will be misleading as they are probably for one serving not the entire dish so someone will…

And the reverse is also true. Those people who choose not to eat pizza, candy and drink soda are demonized by those that do. People are coming on here looking for like minded people. When a thread is posted where someone is looking for friends who eat "clean" there is no reason for a million posts (and stupid Gif's,…

Wow! Great job.

Honestly you can't get all the "recommended" nutrients that your body needs from diet alone so yes, I personally feel that a multi-vitamin is necessary. I have a balanced diet and in addition to what I eat I take a daily multi, Omega-3, calcium, vitamin D, probiotics, prebiotics, digestive enzymes, among other vitamins to…

^^ Agree. And lots of times the cholesterol -- or heck any problem -- is the result of wonky hormones. Statin drugs are the worst thing anyone can be on yet they're heavily pushed and people take them without doing further investigation on their or seeking alternate ways to fix the problem own because "my doctor prescribed…

Depending on how the pulley system is configured it is taking off a significant amount of the weight from what you're lifting so it enables you to lift MORE than you could with free weights.
-
Yes but I don't think it would be a lot. Unless you're eating one of those humongous jars. Annnnd. . . . now I want pickles!
-
1) Get off couch 2) Grab coat 3) Go outside for a walk I'd honestly start there. That will get you moving to start. Then you can figure out what you want to accomplish. Do you want to lift? Learn how to run? What do you want to do? But honestly start slow and small otherwise you'll bite off more than you can chew and stop.

They're not calorie free. The reason the label says that is because the amount of calories in one is so minimal that it meets the FDA "guidelines" as to when you can have "0" anything.
-
How about just eating for a healthy life style? Don't think of it as a diet. When you do that you're doomed to fail. Just choose healthier options, count your calorie intake and exercise.
-
I've been trying to eat a bit more during the day so that I'm not starving by time my meals come around so right now I'm eating some meals when I am not hungry.

Maybe but something is better than nothing. Going lighter with more reps won't cause you to lose your muscle at least. Is it high impact stuff that you can't do? If so then I agree with maybe doing zumba or, if you can, yoga. I've been doing DDP/YRG Yoga (in addition to my lifting and cardio) and it kicks my butt.

Sorry. I didn't see it. :)

It depends on why your overall cholesterol numbers are high. My cholesterol tends to be on the high side according to the over all number but based on the individual breakdown of HDL/LDL/Tri's I'm in the right range. If your "bad" cholesterol and your tri's are high as well as your over all cholesterol then yes, there is…

Um, on top of all the veggies?

Because the FDA always has our best interests at heart. Based on the amount of drugs that pass the FDA's "rigorous inspection and testing", land on the shelves and then are yanked later or there are lawsuits being filed because lo and behold they're not as safe as the FDA claimed I trust them as far as I can throw them.…

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. How is an egg fast going to help your "stalled" weight loss? Have you tried maybe exercising more and eating less? Because that method is pretty much proven to work. Again, what happens when you lose the weight and go back to eating normal? This is not something that is…
-
^^ And therein lies the problem. What happens after your "egg fast" when you go back to eating normal foods? You're going to gain the weight back. There is no "quick fix" to losing weight and keeping it off.
-
^^ I have read that mentality (you can't leave the table until your plate is clean) is one of the main reasons why people become over weight. It's sad really.
