If you keep the pit in the half that you're not using it doesn't brown as fast (I learned that from some friends in Mexico).

Unfortunately the rabbits around my house aren't that afraid of people. I can get pretty darn close to them -- maybe a yard away -- before they hop away.
-
I log it because it's not something that I do all the time. If I'm spending 45 minutes to an hour shoveling snow, not taking a break and sweating my butt off then I consider it a workout.
-
I love it when I see parents who bring their teenaged kids to the gym. I also laugh when it's the summer or what I know is a snow day and they're there with dad at 6 a.m. The looks on their faces is priceless.

Hopefully you went and got it checked out. FWIW: last April my husband rolled his ankle bad too -- sort of sounds like what you did. It was pretty huge by the end of the day so we went to the after hours clinic and he got x-rays. Turns out it WASN'T broken. It's been close to a year and it is still pretty swollen. Also we…

Honestly I don't get cravings for candy. With that said though if I do crave something I don't immediately give in. I will wait and see if after 10-15 minutes the craving subsides, which typically it does. If it doesn't then I will have a small portion of whatever it is I am craving (typically it's cheese or nuts). Also, I…

So? Regardless of whether or not they don't have sensitivity in their skin any more one would know that if they ordered a hot coffee it is going to be hot and to NOT put it in your lap. Period. ETA: Why in the world would your aunt hold a hot frying pan any way?
-
@cakegoddess1 What? YOU might be trying to lose weight and get healthy but not everyone on this site is. And why olive oil or canola oil ONLY!? What type of magical qualities do those two oils have that will cause you to lose weight and become healthy vs. the apparently non-magical properties of coconut oil?

They DO put warnings on things. The reason why they're there is because people like this lady did something that they knew they shouldn't do, got hurt (or killed) and now there's a warning label on it. Pretty sure the whole reason the label on a hairdrier warns you not to use it while bathing is because someone did. And…

That's really not a good comparison IMO. Mostly because of the fact that wheelchair ramps HAVE to be installed so it's not costing the business an undue hardship or extra money to have it put in upon the installation of the building. In fact it probably doesn't cost much more for it to be added into the drawings. Now if…

Yum. I like to take half an avocado and put cottage cheese on it.

Sounds like a gimmick to me. Just drink regular H20

I didn't read the lawsuit but she probably doesn't even have celiacs!
-
We already went over this. Someone also included pictures of her burns.

Some spices can contain gluten. Some things like horseradish can contain distilled grain vinegar and some spices can contain flour to prevent clumping. Also, depending on what kind of bacon you're buying can have caramel color (gluten) and other spices that contain gluten.
-
Then she shot herself in the foot if that happens which in turn will probably cause her to file another law suit because restaurants stopped offering gluten free options because of her original complaint. Also I highly doubt restaurants don't see a profit from it. If that were the case than more restaurants wouldn't offer…

I bought almond milk to use in some recipes that specifically called for it. I can't say I particularly like it. I was putting it in my milk for a little while but stopped because it was giving it a semi funky taste. My husband thought it was great. Of course he also put a ton of chocolate sauce in it too.

Unfortunately most people do go through life that way. I agree, it is a very sad way to live.
-
OT: I worked for a company and we had an outing at a steak restaurant. One guy was a vegetarian and he was disgusted over the fact that there were animal heads on the wall and complained to the restaurant manager about it. I never laughed so hard at someone in my life.
-
I am trying to make a point because it seems that everyone is clueless when it comes to celiacs.
-
Yes but again, someone with celiacs needs to be aware of how the food is prepared. It's not just "Oh, I don't want bread or grains!" It's "are you using the same oil to fry the fries as you are to fry your chicken fingers? Is the grill where my salmon is being cooked on the one that you use to toast the buns for…
-
Then there shouldn't be vegetarian options on menus either. They should just stay home and cook their own food as well. There is absolutely no reason why there should be vegetarian options on the menu at a steak and seafood restaurant.
-
Because it's how they COOK it! Are they cooking the bacon and burgers on the same grill that they use to toast buns? Are they frying the french fries in the same oil that they use to fry their battered chicken in? If they are then many people with celiacs will get ill from cross contamination. You are so incredibly…
-
Wow. So what you're saying is that if someone has celiacs they're not allowed to eat out? That's what I'm getting from your comment. It is a lot more than just "eat non-bready things". There is cross-contamination. My sister has celiacs and if she goes to a restaurant and wants to order say, french fries she has to ask "Do…

How is that any different than say if she went to her doctor, discussed her goals, went over what she should and shouldn't do and her doctor said "Ok. Come back in 6 months. I'd really like to see your weight at XYZ pounds by then." Is it ok because it's a doctor and not a nutritionist?
-
So does that mean because I spilled a hot drink on me that I should sue the company? If I spill boiling water from my teapot on myself do I then sue the teapot maker because they didn't warn me that the water will boil and if spilled on myself it can burn me? I don't care that McDonald's coffee was "hotter than the…
-
And again, if I go to McDonalds -- or anywhere else for that matter -- and order a HOT coffee I expect it to be just that: HOT. Regardless if it is "super heated" or whatever I want my dang coffee to be HOT because that's how I ordered it. There have been times where I've actually had to have them make me a new coffee…
-
You are an idiot if you order a HOT coffee and then spill it and sue because it's HOT.
-
Honestly I'd stay away from the one-a-days and the centrums as there are a lot of unnecessary fillers in them. I used to take women's one-a-day and would get sick from all the fillers regardless if I took them with a meal. I take a multi, omega 3's, vitamin D3, calcium, coq10 and a bunch of other vitamins. I also get my…

You should also take pre-biotics as that is what feeds the pro-biotic.
