My definition of failure: regardless of form, I cannot complete a full rep without assistance.

Okay dbmata. I will follow the trainer, and if he is not there, I will stop 3 reps before I will not be able to move the weight any further. I am not sure how one can forsee snapping something in an arm. I hope that never happens. That would be more painful than lactic acid for sure. Thank you for your great advice. I hope…

Perfect! I will use raw. Oh, I will look for the asterisk, too. Thank you so much for the help. I get so overwhelmed with so many choices, and I just want to make sure I am matching what I actually eat to the correct choice. You gave me tools to make it easier. Thanks, again.

Pain is the burning in the muscle that is happening when the lactic acid is pouring in, and then I cannot get the weight up any further. I don't have a specific program. So, let's said aside the pain concept; you do not lift to failure except when maxing out. Okay, how do you know when to stop lifting then? Do you pick an…

My apologies. I just logged in, again. @dbmata - Thank you for your help. I have a trainer who tells me to keep going until I cannot go anymore. Pain is the burning (I assume this is lactic acid building)... I push through the burn until there is nothing left to give and the weight does not move. I have no program I am…

I lift a lot of weights (6 days a week - 3 legs and 3 upper body days/ one rest day), and I am exhausted when I am done. I don't know how many it burns, but on non-leg days, when I am doing the stair mill, I will burn 600 in about 50 minutes. I barely touch the rails to ensure I am maxing my calories expenditure. I would…

Weights will help. Add more weights to your program. Careful of overdoing the cardio. Keep your muscle. You will need the calories. Keep the body guessing. Change up your program every week. Do not get stuck in rut doing the same routines. The body quickly adapts.

Welcome. Glad another is heading down a healthier road. The best luck for weight loss is hard work. I am autistic, but I will compete someday in a lifting competition. I am learning about nutrition and exercise and how to fuel the body to sustain muscle and burn off fat. I am no expert, and there are many on here who are…

Stop lowering your calories. Fuel your body and increase your activity, and get plenty of water. Problem solved.
-
Remaining calories = Calories consumed - calories expended. The more you expend the more you can technically consume to maintain a specific amount of calories per day.
-
What were the goals you set for 5 days out? Although you might lose more weight because you are just starting out, you might only lose a pound or two a week with a calorie deficit.
-
Too tired to exercise is a good indicator of inadequate nutrition and calories.

Thank you for the link. This is helpful.

Okay. How do you choose which entry is correct? How many confirmations assures accuracy?

I will cheer for you the whole way.

Congratulations. How much was of the loss was fat and how much was muscle? Sometimes, it is hard to lose one without the other, and I hope to read it was all fat.

I am autistic, I may out lift you, I may even have less body fat than you, but I will be your friend to cheer you on until you have conquered your goals.
