The scale finally moved! Challenge start:170 Now: 160

Look at those legs! I would not have guessed you were in the 160s.

So how much exercise did you accomplish in the two hours you've been on this thread? And how do you, a presumably out-of-shape person, propose to do 1000 calories of exercise every day until April? If you need a period of self-flagellation, go ahead. I did too. And then I started having symptoms like dry, brittle hair and…

If you clean houses for work, you have probably already set your activity level to reflect that, so no. We're doing a pretty big project on the yard, lots of digging and planting and moving paving stones, so I count a portion of that time. If I stick to raking leaves, it doesn't get counted. Remember that MFP tends to…

You don't need to eat first (I prefer not to), and whether you need to wait is dependent on what you're doing. Taking a walk? You're golden. Doing a high-impact video? If you feel nauseated, stop, but some people can work out after eating and be fine.

Congrats on your loss to date! What a great Valentine's gift.

Me too and she's older than us. But it does remind me of that fork that is supposed to make food smell like something else.
-
True. And I don't start threads complaining about my few calories because I know what I have to do if I want more.
-
That's not really my struggle, but I wish you the best with your challenge.

Weight loss isn't linear--you won't lose every single week. Are you using a food scale? If not, you may be eating more than you think.

You should have told her you have become a breatharian.

Do alpha males need support? Also, why did yoovie get banned?

It's called thermal adaptation and it's a negligible calorie amount. You could stand outside in the cold while drinking your ice water for a double dose.

Okay, just make sure you're eating enough calories. Your body needs more to heal. http://surgery.about.com/od/aftersurgery/ss/EatAfterSurgery.htm#step-heading

I have always eaten from the late afternoon to night (so basically 14:10), and shortening the window to the evening worked fine for me. I even started running while doing 18:6. This is the article that I stumbled on while freaking out over my period:…

And now I know I've had worse sex and worse pizza than you

My mom "lost" 30 pounds in three weeks. She is weighing herself on a different scale than her doctor's office uses (she had eaten breakfast and was wearing jeans and shoes at the time of the appointment) and has cut out a lot of salty snacks. I don't have the heart to tell her how little fat loss she actually accomplished.…

Fluid retention is nothing. And if your TOM is coming, you have the water weight from that too. Avoid the scale until you're off the meds. Should you still be restricting calories as you heal? Does your doctor know you're doing that?

I really hope I ca post this gif before the mods come along and

I was pretty much doing 18:6 or 19:5. Gave it up when I had an issue with my period stopping and then restarting a day or so later. I found it easier to stay in my calorie limit doing that. I am currently doing 14:10 (which seems to be the recommendation for women) and would rather go back to a shorter eating window.

Little Caesar's must taste better where y'all are or else you have some low expectations for pizza. It does look amazing, though.

Thanks all! I like getting a wide perspective on how long it takes with different approaches. Keep them coming!
-
Awwwwwwwwww you'll get there again! You know what to do. @ana3067, is that 6-7 hours per day?
-
Yeah, I'm not on any deadline, but I'm guessing this block is going to take a loooooong time. Thanks!
-
Yup. Or as others have pointed out, sits at a desk all day--but gets up to talk to her coworkers instead of email, doesn't count walking as exercise, has active hobbies, runs around after kids/pets . . .

Oh my lawd. Maybe it's because I'm from Florida, but I have run into more than enough Christians who would read that man's post and say "praise Jesus." Even spent a portion of my teens going to church with them.
