Are your five-week predictions generally accurate?
My five-week prediction has been in a three- or four-pound range every night and since I have visitors coming in five weeks, I really really want it to be true. But I don't see how I could lose 16-20 pounds in that time! That number seems pretty high, even if I have been doing lots of cardio and limiting my calories. Have…

Judgmental confession about that non-judgmental confession thread
I don't really understand why so many people on here say they eat something and don't log it at all. They're not cheating the system--their bodies log it all. There were dozens, if not hundreds, of people who said that. What is the reasoning behind that? Do they not want their friends to see? Do they think that if they…

5'5"-5'7" women: how long did it take you to get from 160 to 140?
I realize that there are a huge number of variables here, but I'd like to know how long it took you to lose those pounds. AND what, if anything, did you change during this time? I went from 200-180 in about 2.5 months and 180-160 in about 3. I know this is the point where it starts getting very hard. Thanks in advance.

Sleeping as a stallbreaker
I was talking to my friend about how I've only lost half a pound in almost two weeks (I'm fine with this because I get that weight loss isn't linear, I've eaten near maintenance three days, and I've lost inches during this time) and she suggested that I sleep more, because that helped her break a plateau. So I ask this: Is…

Did I get the french fry math right?
I want to make sure I'm not off by too much. Serving size: 85 g (I assume frozen, although the bag doesn't say) Prebaked: 529 grams Baked: 397 grams My serving: 76 grams baked So since it lost about 25% of its mass in the oven, I actually ate 1.2 servings (or 100.8 frozen grams), right?

Disappointing. I want my calories and carbs back.

PureVia Lawsuit
If you purchased PureVia sweetener, you can get up to $30 because it's not as natural as nature usually natures stuff. The plaintiff alleges she was misled by the statements on the Pure Via All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener. She alleges that the product was not “natural” because it contained ingredients that were “highly…

Buy a food scale
Since I've started weighing my food, I can't believe how some of the items have stacked up. Eggs have surprised me the most--the brand I buy says there are 70 calories/large egg (and the USDA agrees), but I have had one egg that was under that number so far out of more than a dozen. The rest have been 75-85+. And let's not…

Help me fix my weak left side
I have past injuries (sciatic nerve + shoulder nerve) on my left side and am trying to make my left side stronger. I have been doing this by doing 1.5-2X the reps with dumbbells (vs. my right side) and I've added extra strength training/yoga poses this week. I am looking for any advice, exercises, etc from people who have…

Gallbladder sufferers--how did you eat pre-surgery?
I went from 200 to 170 in less than 4 months by eating a 1200 calorie diet. Then I spent a couple days eating every buttery cheesy thing I could lay my hands on. Christmas Eve, I had my first gallbladder attack, lasting 14-15 hours. Aside from the (rapid?) weight loss and the fatty foods, I have several relatives who had…

weight loss/muscle loss ?
When did you start noticing that you were losing muscle along with your weight? This might be my imagination, but I think my stomach is less muscular as well as flatter. It's clearly smaller, but it feels doughier. I have lost 27 pounds (CW: 5'6" and 173). I plan to do more core exercises to make up for it--I row and have…

Cranberry Sauce (good to mix in with oatmeal or cottage cheese)
12 oz. bag fresh cranberries 1 cup water 1/2 (kinda tart) to 1 cup (very sweet) Splenda/sugar/sweetener 1 envelope unflavored gelatin (optional, adds 20 calories to the entire recipe) Combine Splenda and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to boil; add cranberries, return to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for up to 10 minutes,…

Juicing books?
My mom is getting a juicer for Christmas and I'd like to get her some recipe books to go with it. Does anyone have any that they've enjoyed? I looked at a couple today and they didn't seem to have a lot of recipes (my mom actually likes to follow those).

Pork loin absorbing sauce?
I've tried googling this, but only came up with recipes and how-tos. I'm making a 1.6 lb. lean pork loin in the crockpot for dinner. I seared it in cooking spray first, then put it in with herbs, 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar, and 1/2 c. teriyaki sauce that has 35 calories per Tbsp. Someone told me that the method of cooking…
