Agreed! I tend to find the first 5 minutes the hardest. I think it takes me awhile to get the breathing going properly. I was hoping this was something that would get better as my running improved but perhaps it's just the way it is. Got to just push past it.

I'm doing 30ds at the moment and on day 5 of workout 2. I do it every second day (the other days I am doing the C25K). I'm finding workout 2 fairly tough but I think its getting easier each time. I think?!

Perhaps try slowing down and seeing if that helps? I would stay on week 2 for another week and see how you feel.

I managed week 6, workout 1 tonight. Felt good! Workout 2 and 3 looks a bit daunting though but I'm ready for the challenge! @girlinahat I might use your advice and slow down for workout 2 and see how I go.

I'm on level 2 of 30DS at the moment. I did 4 days of Level 1. I had been running a fair bit and doing some other programs previous to starting so I was ready to move into Level 2 a bit sooner than the 10 days. If you want to do the full 10 days at each level, then perhaps increase the weights.

I'm currently doing Level 2 of 30DS and I'm really enjoying it. Hell of a workout in 20 minutes and my arms are like jelly after. Feels awesome. I wouldn't bother with the books.

I'm exactly the same as this! I like to have a few 'nice' snacks at night once the kids are fast asleep. That's when I raid the pantry. :p

Well after doing the test on my hrm again to set the VO2max I went to the gym this afternoon and did the same run I previously did where my hrm said 620 calories. This time it said 413 calories (4.5km). I think that sounds fairly accurate. Interestingly I entered stats into some online calculators and got the following:*…

That's a real shame then! However I do only eat half the calories back and I'm losing each week so at least I know what I'm doing is working. Really wish the hrm was accurate; would love to be burning 600+ in 30 minutes! :smiley:

Thanks for your responses. Yes I'm 80kg (at the moment!). My hrm is a Polar F11 and I'm using the OwnZone and do the fitness test regularly so that the VO2 measurements are updated. It currently has my VO2 max at 36 (which seems reasonable to me). All my settings seem correct.
