Thanks for sharing your story, Ari; it sounds like you've found a good path for yourself to regain health and confidence again. I could relate to so much of your story; keep up the great work!

I'll join you, too! I'm a perpetual wagon-falling-off'er so I can relate!

I had an unexpected NSV yesterday morning. Right before a mammogram, the tech looked me over to size me for a smock. She first reached for one size, then got a larger one "just in case" she said. The smaller one fit with room to spare:)

I wonder how the OP is doing now?

I cut about 9 ones in half, then dip the halves in almost-melted coconut oil, put them on a foil-lined baking sheet & sprinkle on salt & pepper. I then bake 'em in a 365 degree oven for 40 minutes, turning them over every 10 minutes. I'd like to truly "roast" them but I've read that coconut oil can't take the high heat?…

I am, I can, I will, I do. I repeat this a lot while exercising. Another one I recently heard that's stuck with me: check myself before I wreck myself...for me, this is a reference to stopping a binge before it gets away from me!

Used to hate oysters (texture thing) and Brussels sprouts. Every Halloween my mother would make oyster stew and I had to choke it down. Then I was at a restaurant known for their fresh seafood a few years ago and decided to try the fried oyster special - I was hooked! I'm still not a fan of them raw, though. And once I…

I don't think I can add any greater advice than the above posters have already, as what they've stated (not going it alone, pre-planning meals, not starving yourself, re-training your mind are the key points) have helped me turn the corner. I see a…

Same boat; I'll add you!

I'll have a handful of cooked shrimp and/or I'll cook up a ground turkey patty with herbs/spices and put a little Greek yogurt on top to help with dryness (if I overcook the turkey too much :(

A warm welcome to you, Niki, and all the best on your fitness journey!

I, like many of you, add mushrooms to everything I can! One of my favorite lighter meals is to take about a cup each of shredded rotisserie chicken, sliced mushrooms and sliced Vidalia (or other sweet onion) and saute in olive oil until hot, adding a light touch of sea salt and pepper. Be careful when sauteing with olive…

Oh yeah, 110lbs to go for me. But I will get it done! If anyone needs support, I'll be happy to give it and it would be nice to have some too. All the best to everyone on this journey!

I've been there many times, Jamie, asking myself the same questions after yet another failed try at maintaining motivation. I listen to those same "bad tapes" in my head, as they try to reinforce that "why bother" mantra. My trick is to acknowledge those faulty lines exist, that they will pop up whether I expect them or…
